General Hammond wasn't looking too happy at the moment, and the reason for that was because it looked like only one member of SG-1 had followed his orders despite having had more than a week's warning.
If you'd walked into the meeting room and run into SG-1 at that moment, you would've thought that one of them had gone completely insane, and that General Hammond had joined her, as the female member of SG-1 was dressed up as some sort of cigar smoking lizard, and the General was dressed up as a clown. The truth of the matter was, there was a reasonable explanation for why everyone in the room was out of uniform, and Carter and Hammond were wildly so, despite the fact that it was against protocol. What had happened was that when October had rolled around that year, morale at the base had been at an all time low so, after taking several suggestions, the General had decided to throw a costume party on the evening of the 31st. A costume party that General Hammond and the team would be attending as soon as the briefing they were at was over.
The problem that the General was having at the moment was that, despite the fact that all four members of SG-1 were out of uniform, only one of them had bothered to dress in a costume as ordered.
"Colonel O'Neill, is there any particular reason that you didn't follow my orders?" the General finally said when the meeting came to an end as he gestured to O'Neill's outfit which consisted of jeans, a t-shirt, slightly grubby sneakers, a ball cap, and a beat-up leather jacket. "I get that Daniel's going to duck out of the party and go on a date later, and that Teal'c doesn't really understand Halloween but, what's your excuse?"
"Well, you see General..."
Five Hours later:
"And, First Place in the Group Costume category goes to SG-1 for their excellent A-Team costume."
