"Which one is the one that makes the car go forward?" Castiel looked down at his feet. Two shiny silver peddles looked up at him, one larger than the other.
"The one on the right. But don't-" Dean started, but his attempts failed.
"I don't understand, I put my foot on the peddle and we are not moving." Castiel turned to Dean, his foot no longer pressed down. Castiel waited for Dean to reply, watching as Dean shook his head back and forth in disappointment.
"Cas, you have to turn the car on first." Dean said in a sigh. His voice breathy as he ran his hand down his face. Dean looked at Castiel again, growing slightly uncomfortable with the way Castiel continued to stare at him.
"Oh right." Castiel looked at the steering wheel, his hands sat promptly in his lap. Castiel's eyes danced around looking for an on off switch in front of him. When he found none he once more turned to Dean. "How do I do that?" He asked.
"The keys Cas, you put the keys in the ignition and turn." Dean's voice rose in frustration. The idea of helping Castiel learn to drive had started out to be a good one, the longer he sat here and tried to explain things, the more he wished he had let Sam attempt to teach Castiel.
"Alright." Castiel said. He raised the keys in his hand to face level. He inspected them before waiting for Dean to point out where exactly the ignition was. As if Dean could read his mind, he pointed to it and waited for Castiel to further the process.
Castiel finally roared the Impala to life and turned triumphant to his friend. Dean gave him a small smile and leaned back in his seat, starting to relax. "Okay. So now you see the peddle on the left? Press on it. Now, pull this lever until it's in 'D'"
Cas did as he was told, and waited for more instructions. He sat patiently, unable to come up with what to ask. "Now, take your foot off the left peddle and put it on the right one." Dean spoke slowly.
The moment that Castiel took his foot off the brake the car started to lurch forward. Castiel gripped the steering wheel tightly before placing a heavy foot on the gas. The car pulled forward so fast that Dean didn't have time to react. The car met with a tree, impacting it hard enough to force Cas and Dean to hit the dashboard.
"That was bad, right?" Castiel asked, after checking the blood dripping from his temple.
"No Cas, that was perfect!" Dean practically yelled, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Damnit Cas!" Dean threw himself out of the car, his feet crunching on the gravel below him. He made his way quickly to the front of his car, assessing the damage done to his baby.
