SUMMARY

Four/Tobias

His world has always been nothing, but stealing, lieing, and fighting just to get the days meal. Along with having to suffer through his fathers torment, never having his own way in life, and keeping up a reputation.

Beatrice/Tris

Her world has always been perfect. She has a loving brother, good friends, does well in school, her parents are the King and Queen of the faction Abnegation (the most powerful faction of the land), and she has everything she could possibly ever want, except for true love.

What could these two possibly have in common? They live just a swim away from each other, yet have never met, and their worlds are complete opposites. This is because they live in the world of factions. His father, Marcus Eaton -a name that even so far away, still sends shivers down peoples spines- was banished to the factionless before he was even born. His father rules the factionless with an iron fist through fear, he also abuses his son, Tobias who goes by Four not just for intimidation, but for a reason explained later on in the story (its actually a really dumb reason). Beatrice (who prefers Tris) is the princess of the faction of Abnegation. Also, destined to rule the land as queen in only two months. They never thought they wpuld actually have the chance to meet, that is, until Tris decides that the factionless children should be able to live in a faction and make decisions for themselves. At first no one was on board, although as people got to know the 'test subjects' of 'reforming' Factionless kids, they learn that their not bad kids, they are just broken. And as Tris and her friends strongly believe, every broken thing can be mended.
