Ian sat nervously on the edge of the couch, fiddling with his car keys. Why was he going to do this? He was going to confess something to his best friend that he'd been keeping in for so long. Why did his bisexuality have to work its way into their friendship? Ian loved Melanie, but it's been dimming in the presence of someone different, someone so unknowingly amazing and alluring.
Did Anthony know how Ian felt about him? Was Anthony aware how fast Ian's heart beat when Anthony was shirtless in a video, or how much Ian loved the staring contests as an excuse to look into Anthony's deep chocolate brown eyes? Ian took a deep breath to find he was shaking. He didn't want to be rejected, but he had to let Anthony know before it got more serious, to try to save themselves. Yet there was still a spot of warmth in Ian, that little part of him that hoped that Anthony would feel the same way. But he kept pushing it back under, because of how ridiculous the idea was. It was all he could do to not back down now.

Anthony walked slowly into the living room with his confessions hanging on his lips, his eyes riveted on Ian the whole time. Ian, the man who had made the relationship with Kalel worthless, the man causing Anthony to take a leap into the unknown. Anthony wasn't sure about being gay until he caught Ian watching his with those gorgeous blue eyes, and since then he'd never been able to stop thinking about Ian. Now Anthony thought about how stupid he'd been for leaving Kalel before knowing about Ian's reaction. But there was no turning back now.
"Ian, I have to tell you something." He said, hoping his nervousness wouldn't show. Ian stood in front of Anthony, biting his lip. Anthony tried to not be transfixed by the subtle action.
"I have to tell you something too, Anthony." Ian said. They both paused for a second, then said in unison "I love you."
Anthony took a step back, startled. "What is this, some kind of joke?" Ian's face wrinkled a little.
"I was wondering the same thing. How did you know? Why would you lie to me!" Ian said defensively.
"Well you obviously didn't need me to confess, you came to tease me yourself!" Anthony nearly yelled.
"Why on earth would I tease you?" Ian demanded. Anthony shifted his weight and looked at the ground.
"I wasn't lying. I love you Ian. And I know you don't feel the same." Anthony said quietly. He waited for the laughter, the 'Dude, what the hell, you're not gay!' from Ian. But none came.
Instead, Ian took a step forward and pulled Anthony's chin up to his, and before Anthony could fully register what was happening, Ian was kissing him and he was kissing back. They moved into each other's arms, just staying there, until Ian finally broke away from the kiss.
"I wasn't lying either, Anthony. I love you too." He whispered. Anthony couldn't stop the smile from spreading across his face as he felt Ian's fingers in his hair, and his own fingers curled in on Ian's shirt, holding tightly. Anthony pressed his forehead to Ian's instinctively.
"Don't let me go." Ian whispered. Anthony grinned.
"Never." He whispered back before kissing Ian again.
