Anger welled inside him as her pale, frightened face stared at him. She was too beautiful to be human. Her eyes were a deep, endless, pool of green, and her long, brown curls sat on her shoulders. She was an angel, and he couldn't stand it.

He was standing in front of her for a reason. He wanted to kill her. He never wanted to see that innocent face again.

He tried to resist that urge – the urge of a savage, barbaric, predator. The urge to kill. The urge to taste that sweet blood that was held inside of her.

He blamed, on her, every bad thing that had happened to him, and yet, she had absolutely nothing to do with it.

As he stepped forward, he could smell her sweet scent of cinnamon, and it drove him crazy with hunger.

The angel stared back at him, wanting to run, but transfixed in curiosity. Who was this man walking towards her with black, menacing eyes? What was this man? She had no answers, and could find no clues.

He was getting closer. She knew better than to just sit there like stone, but something held her down. Was it the tension she could feel vibrating off of him? Or was it the horrid face that stared down at her, in pain?

He stopped when he was close enough to touch her, his fists balled up, and shaking.

As he smiled an evil grin, she saw at the very last minute, the sun glinting off his white fangs. Her body tensed in horror, and tears fell from her eyes.

There was a short shriek, and then an uncomfortable silence.

That man was no ordinary man. He was a vampire.

Mabel woke up with a scream, tears running down her face. She was sweating profusely, and her T-shirt was soaked through.

She spent a few minutes with her head in her hands, calming herself down. That dream had seemed so real, but she knew it couldn't be. Mabel smiled to herself. Huh. Vampires aren't real. I must be paranoid.
