Lois growled as she stomped off into her office, Clark right behind her. Clark smiled sheepishly to those on the news room floor as he closed the door to the office behind him. He turned back around at the sound of Lois slamming the memo that they had just been given onto her desk.

"Ollie better not let this happen again. There's no way that I'm going to be working for that cue ball again." Lois almost screamed as she threw her hands into the air.

"Lex and Ollie aren't the only ones trying to buy the Planet Lois." Clark argued as he made his way towards her, slightly loosening his tie as he did.

"Yeah, yeah, how could I forget Smallville. The playboy from Gotham is in the bid as well." Lois said with a sigh as she slumped down into her chair.

Clark arched a brow. "Would it be so bad to work for Wayne? I doubt he could be any worse than Lex had been."

"If he is I don't want to find out. I'd prefer it if Ollie was able to keep control of the Planet. But it seems that now that Lex is back and once again knows that he's Lex he wants all his little toys back. By the way, how the hell did he get them back, I thought Tess said she took them away?"

Clark sighed as he thought back to the other day when he had seen Lex, as Superman, only to be referred to as Clark. Lex had mentioned something about several back up's that Lionel had created. He had made said that the human brain was just like a computer, that the information just needed to be "downloaded again".

"Lionel had backups of all of his memories created. Not to mention everything that happened while Lex was dead."

Lois grunted in response. "Papa Luthor, always could count on him to screw things up for everyone."

Clark nodded and was about to respond when the door to their office opened. "I told you Lane, Africa would bring you big things."

"Perry?" Lois said, looking past Clark with wide eyes.

"What are you doing back in Metropolis Mr. White?" Clark asked as he pushed his glasses back up his nose.

"Great Caesars Ghost, no one's told you?" Perry asked with a slight chuckle. As Lois narrowed her eyes he grinned "Our new owner decided to name me the Planets new Editor and Chief."

"That's great Perry. Congratulations." Clark said as he held his hand out to shake Perry's own.

"So Chief," Lois said with a smirk to which Perry groaned and muttered "Don't call me Chief." Who is the new boss. And if its Luthor shot me now."

"No such luck in getting out of working for me Lane. From now on Bruce Wayne will be signing your checks."
