In his last desperate moments, Castiel asks for God's guidance, asking if the road he is taking is the right one. This is what I believe God would've answered. (Set at the end of Season 6)

My Dearest Castiel,

There are only so many things I wish I could tell you. As you are one of my most beloved angels, I am afraid you have misinterpreted my role as your creator.

I created you to to serve me, to follow my orders. That is in fact the nature of an angel, of a messenger.

In the time you spent with the Winchester brothers, you changed the world's fate, acted against your older brothers. You have molded yourself into something close to that of a human. Can you feel it Castiel?

You can feel emotion now, you can choose for yourself. The closeness of having friends, the conviction that lead you to go against them, and the doubt. The doubt that brought you here, asking for my help. In those aspects, you are now very much like a human.

So from here on out, my command has also changed for you. They are the very ones I left with mankind, my greatest creations. My command is…for you to make your own choices.

It 's ridiculous, you say? Giving us a command, that isn't a command at all. Well let me tell you Castiel, can you even imagine a world where every living creature is bound to my rule? It would be a deceptive image of human suppression. It would be…a divine dictatorship.

It would be a perfect world, yes, but a false world.

I watch over you, you know, all of you. I watch you learn and grow from your choices. Generation after generation, the same mistakes happen. The same demons creep into your minds and tempt the same influences, only for you to reap outcomes and solutions far greater than the last. And that is what makes me so proud of you. Your ability to evolve, to help one another, to love one another, that is all a father could for from his children. Granted, there are many of you that do not understand, and are unable to resist the persuasions of the devil, but they are still in no way possible a match for the ones that do.

And so, that is the command I leave with you; the gift of free will and the curse of making your own mistakes.

I cannot tell you what to do, nor how or when to do them. That is not what a God does. A God creates and observes. I can only tell you that your life is your choice. You must be the one to ask for help, and act in the hopes that I will guide you. Because I will.

Because it is what you choose to do.

A/N: There you have it. The meaning of life in a fan fiction website xD He has granted us "the gift of free will and the curse of making our own mistakes." Well, that and the fact that if they brought God into Supernatural, there would be no more show. He'd just kill the demons, Crowley, and all the ill-intentioned creatures considering the amount of power he has.

Anyway, thanks for reading and have a nice day! Comments and feedback are very much appreciated! ;)
