"Wake up, sleepyhead." Sally smiled sweetly, although there was a hint of a teasing nature in her eyes. She gently poked at her lover, who had his face buried into the pillow, and gave him a little push.
"Hmmm...?" Sonic garbled; his voice muffled.
"It's eight o'clock, and I have to be out of here and in the meeting by nine." She explained. The chipmunk was was on her side, head propped up with her elbow.
"Ohhrright." His words were barely identifiable. "Euur a prwincessss. Ey ferrgawt."
She giggled and pushed him onto his back. "Get up!"
"Oof!" The hedgehog tried to hide his grin. "Good mornin'." He squinted as sunlight shined through the bedroom window. He flipped over, palm under chin, mimicking Sally's position. "What's the meeting for?"
"Some discrepancies with Furville. Shouldn't take more than a few hours." She shrugged nonchalantly, but her own annoyance with the situation still showed.
"Bleck." Sonic stuck out his tongue. "A few hours? Can't they leave our mornings alone?"
"Don't be silly. We both know that our nights together are secret." Her eyes snuck a glance towards the single window in the room; although they were at least two stories up in the castle, Sonic still managed to scamper up and clamber through it.
"I know. But still. Last week, it was Mom coming over to me n' Tails' place to bring cookies, and a while before that it was... uh..." He bit his lip in thought.
Cringing at his grammar, she replied, "Amy's birthday party."
"Oh! That!" Sonic's face lit up in remembrance.
"You have the memory— and attention span— of a Flickie bird." Sally smirked with a sigh. "Besides, we did get to... slip away for awhile."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm just not good with a few birthdates, that's all."
"Mm-hm!"
"Oh, don't you 'mm-hm' me!" He grinned mischievously. He ran two fingertips around the back of Sally's neck.
"Aah! Stop it!" She curled up and scrunched downwards, farther into the covers, in a failed attempt to avoid his tickling.
"Hahaha!" Going all-out now, the hedgehog's hands went around her sides, wiggling his fingers at supersonic speeds. Being the quick-thinking woman that she was, Sally knew the one action she could do that would potentially cease his shenanigans. Against her body's instinct, she drew closer to him, wrapped her arms around his neck, and pressed her lips hard against his.
"Hah—hmmw—mmmm..." He melted faster than an ice cream cone in the Great Desert. They got a little physical, but nothing too major before Sally broke away.
"I have a meeting to prepare for."
"Bu-buh... Just five more—?!"
"Nope. I've gotta dash. Seeya!" The princess gave him a peck on the cheek, hopped out of bed, pulled on her vest and boots, and, well, dashed out the door.
"Hnnnnngh..." Sonic's head fell flat into the pillow once again. "Tonight, I am SO getting you back for that, Sal..." Soon afterwards, the hedgehog pulled on his own shoes and gloves, snuck through the window, and sprinted home. Tonight, he would get her back... somehow.
The End
[Oh, Sonic... ;)]
