A/N: My entry for the Dares Forum Generation Dare! :D Short, but ah, enjoy!
Some many years ago,
We tied the knot.
I thought we had a wonderful bond.
One that would never rot.
It started out with us.
We played in the season of spring.
I still remember the game.
I was queen and you were king.
Life for us had no stress.
We'd be worry free.
Just played all day.
Childlike and naïve.
Then we grew.
You were so big and strong.
I always seemed to be short.
Growing an inch seemed to take long.
Then came the day.
When you asked me to marry you.
I was so happy.
I couldn't believe it was true.
But Ma and Pa said "no".
I cried for a while.
You were there to comfort me.
And assure we'd walk down the aisle.
And we did.
You allowed the bells to ring.
The town threw rice at us.
And the birds were able to sing.
Sadly…things didn't work.
Our daughter went away.
You would drink every night.
There was always a price for me to pay.
So here we sit.
Together in remorse.
I'm about to sign the paper.
We're about to divorce.
A/N: And that's it. ;_; 188 words. Short and almost pathetic, I know, and I'm sorry. This was kind of a struggle. First I couldn't decide what to write about. Then violetfireflies came to the rescue with a mountain load of ideas one of them obviously being Duke and Manna. (Thanks again for the help. ^^) Then after like, four attempts, it was almost October 29th, the original deadline. (It was something around then, anyways) And I was like "NOOO…" along with a bunch of others because literally no one had submitted anything yet!
Then Violet came to the rescue again, and extended the deadline. :D I was so busy that week, and finally had to resort to poetry because I had neither the time nor inspiration to write a full length oneshot. :'( But I was determined to submit something because hey, there's a prize, and you never know. (Not that I expect myself to win, hahaha. XD)
So…that's my story. XD I thank you for reading, and I wish everyone the best of luck in the contest! :)
