The man screamed money and wrong from his chinos to his pale peach cap. He was not part of the typical neighborhood crowd. Back in High School, Sally's mother once called him her 'godsend'. Back then, the man and she were a thing. To Sally then, he was the shining light at the end of her accursed tunnel of poverty. However, Sally didn't stay eternally seventeen. (and Sally's mother wasn't alive by then to make anymore romantic prophecies)

Back then, Sally was just another student at Rotfords. Sure her clothes had some wear and tear but she helped make up the social normalcy of the upper middle class high school. That was where she met Hadrian. They didn't instantly click, but they were fast friends.

He stepped forward, blocking the path of a dark haired woman. "Sally, please. Be reasonable. I-"

"No Harry. Go home." Sally cut him off and step-sided her old friend easily, pushing by him to reach her apartment.

It had been over a year since she had last seen him, over two since they had held a proper conversation and she missed him like hell. Hadrian and his biting words and killer smiles. Once upon a time, Sally thought she was going to be a Mrs. Hadrian but not anymore.

"Come with me! I don't care about the brats, bring them, dump them, I don't care."
