My name is Zane and I'm one of the millions of Oals who will (hopefully) someday be an "Eye" of a plant or animal. Personally, if I had my pick, I'd go for one of the felines. LeopardEye maybe, or LionEye. Whatever I get, I hope it isn't a plant Eye, because plant Eyes are Flyers-they're spies for Zirconia's flying eyeball, Zircon. Animal Eyes are Dream Finders-they look inside dreams of humans to find what our Master, Zirconia needs (whatever it is). …

"Guess what, someone is being picked to be a Eye today!"
"Cool!"
"Yeah! It's gonna be me!"
"No way, Dov! Me!" Dov thinks he'll get an animal, one with cool powers. I say if he gets anything, it'll be the most boring plant in the universe.
"Yes, Grand Zirconia?"
"I have picked you to be an Eye, but the animal needed has not been caught yet. You will be called when it is time."
*Ha! That'll show Dov! * I thought. *And an animal too! *
"Thank you, Grand Zirconia!" I said, bowing in the time-honored fashion, then I opened a portal behind me and jumped through.
"So, your animal hasn't been caught yet?"
"Did Zirconia say when it would be caught?"
"Do you know what animal it is yet?
"I thought it was a plant!"
After that one, I just tuned out all the questions. I needed to find a quiet place. I needed to think about all of this!

As soon as I became an Eye, I began to push back my Oal self, the part that said dreams were good things to have. I formed the Amazon Trio, a group of three of the best animal Eyes-including me! Like most Eyes, I forgot that I was transformed from an animal. Then the Amazon Trio was assigned to find Pegasus. It should have been routine. …
Now, I'm here in the Pegasus's forest, and I think that when I was Zane, I understood dreams more then I do now.
