Dean knows a lot of things about Sam.
He knows that Sam always sleeps on his left side if he sleeps sideways at all and he knows that Sam likes caramel better than chocolate - but only in his coffee, otherwise Sammy's a sucker for chocolates. He knows Sam likes his burger without the extra cheese and that he hates onions in his pizza. He knows that Sam loves to sleep in and for that he hopes the nightmares will stay away.
He knows that Sam likes 'Discovery' better than 'Animal Planet' and he knows that Sam taps his right foot when he's antsy. He knows that Sam likes to rest his head on the closed window rather than the dashboard and that he likes purple although he wears black whenever Dean has laundry because stains are hardly visible against the black.
He knows that Sam prefers Scotch to beer and that he likes blonde better than brunette.
He also knows that running your fingers through his hair makes him feel safe but only if it was Dean. The kid can't stand hands in his otherwise. He knows that Sam always picks paper so he always picks scissors.
He knows that Sam loves watching the sun go down and disppears for five or ten minutes because Sam would never do it with him in the room. He knows that Sam knows that Sammy's Dean's name - only Dean's to call, to tease, to protect. And by the way Sam's been on that computer forever, he knows that Sam loves him, too.
Sure, he knows a lot of other things but sometimes, Dean's pretty sure that he knows nothing beyond Sam.
