Here's a preview of my writing taken directly from Gamblers and Gallantry. I thought I should do something easy like this just to get warmed up since it's been awhile since I last posted here. It was written when I wasn't feeling very creative.

Gambler's and Gallantry

The rain began on the day she went to the bridge. Alone, nothing seemed to distance her from the fact that

"Perhaps this is none of my bussiness," intoned a man's voice.

She started and turned. "But the canal isn't as deep as it appears."

There a samurai stood profile, rain dripping from the irregular brim of his straw hat. He was tall and pale, dressed in blue haori, red obi and black hakama. The hat hid his face but for impassive lips. They continued speaking.

"If you intend to throw yourself in and drown yourself, it would be wiser to choose another place." How embarrassing. She'd been ousted. Trying her best to subdue the anguish that had so perfectly been read on her physical body she summoned the will to smile at him. "Goodness, did I have such a dejected look on my face?" She asked with feigned astonishment. "Honestly, I would never do anything that painful." She struggled to smile.

The samurai stood still and stoic in silence.

"Thankyou for the warning, goodbye." the woman bid him and walked away. The man remained at the bridge listening to the tread of her steps fade into the rain-patter. He turned his head to watch her tiny figure disappear into the distance.

"URRAAHHH." A young man with unruly brown hair belted at the gleaming bodies in the ring. The rivals smashed into each other again, struggling head to head, to shove the other out of bounds. The goads were deafening, but the unruly haired young man, unruly himself, goaded the loudest of them all. "Move your ass stupid beatle!"
