That night at the McCall's

"Scott?"

"Yeah, mom?"

"Why is your friend still here?"

"He's staying for the night."

"And why is he staying for the night?"

"He has nowhere else to go: he's an orphan."

"Surely he has home."

"Where he's all alone when all these, these things are going on and where his father locked him up in the freezer in the basement."

"Scott, you can't…"

"I saw it myself, mom, I saw the nail marks in the damn thing."

"Mom?"

"All right, fine, he can stay here for now. But where does he sleep?"

"He'll sleep in my bed and I'll sleep on the couch."

"That's nice of you, Scott."

"Thanks, mom."

"Okay, I think I have had enough excitement for one day, I'm going to bed. Good night, Scott, I love you."

"I love you too, good night."

"You know, I really don't mind sleeping on the couch."

"It's okay, good night, Isaac."

"Good night, Scott, and thanks."

"Don't mention it, night."
