She waited for an hour but nothing.

She glanced down at her watch in anticipation.

Had he stood her up?

She grimaced, he wouldn't do that to her, would he?

No of course not. He was probably just held up somewhere.

Besides, it wasn't a date. It was just a gathering of friends, right?

Shaking her head, she glanced back down at the menu for the fifth time this evening, obviously annoyed that he was late.

Shortly, it would be closing time and everyone had long since evacuated the restaurant.

The waiter waddled over to her, giving the young military officer a sad frown before handing the bill to her for the drinks that she ordered throughout the night.

She nodded sincerely, handing over what Yen she owed and stood before making her way outside of the restaurant.

It was an odd feeling, she mused, but Riza Hawkeye had gotten stood up.

She raised a single finger to wipe away a single silent tear that trickled down her cheek.

Generally, she wouldn't cry over something so utterly stupid and senseless.

But she did.

It wasn't just because she had feelings for this guy.

No.

It was because she was stupid enough to believe he was sincere enough in the first place.

So she decided that she would walk all the way home, not bothering to look back at the panting figure behind her, holding apologetic flowers and a sad smile, almost sorry that he didn't get the chance to wish her a goodnight.

Okay, pretty stupid ending, I guess. But I guess I wanted it to end this way. But eh, that's the way things end sometimes. Anyway, please Read and Review. I would very much appreciate it.
