Troubled Imagination

I only own Mary 'Demon' Night and used some common names. My character has slang if there is any problems ask me and I will help. I do not own x-men I will change a few things I don't know any French so I will use some of Gambit's slang from other stories forgive me. If you look back in your life you wish you had done several things different but there is no way to go back in time to fix things you have to live with the choices you make. Most all regret some choices that hurt those close to them and appear or what lead up to why some people turn out the way they do one being seeing death at a very young age. There was no way to control the outcome of that night and David knew it but he sacrificed himself for the one he loved as his own as he pushed her into a closet and stood in front of it. All the young girl heard was a loud noise for what felt like hours but it was all over in five minutes when she heard the front door slam she pushed the closet door open. She saw red all over the walls and floor she walked to each of her family members none of them moved when she shook them she turned to see David he was still awake. Seeing her looking at him confused made him frown "I'm so sorry angel we... I wish I saw this coming so we could be alright... I'm sorry we ruined your special day too." "David why won't they wake up... what's the red stuff?" he couldn't hold back the tears at her innocence "It's blood we... we were injured and we can't wake up I'm sorry angel." She stared at him with confused eyes she moved towards him "Why won't your injuries get better with rest?" "Not this time sweetie I wish I had worked to make sure someone could take you in." "David I don't understand" "I know... and I'm sorry for I won't be able to keep my promise but I do love you we all love you do not forget that and don't stop being our angel." He put his hand on her cheek "I want you to be who you want to be do what you wanted with the skills you've learned we'll be proud of you no matter what you do in life but be you." As his eyes started to close she tried to keep him away "David... you'll wake up right... David?" "I didn't care you weren't my blood but you are my daughter never forget Mary." "David... David?" she watched as his eyes closed then she heard an exhale of breath she shook him trying to get him to wake "David wake up... please wake up... I don't like this feelin of being alone." She shook him hard and yelled a little only that attracted unwanted attention "Well looks like we missed one she might not have seen our faces but she'll need to go as well." Mary turned to look at the men coming into the room her eyes went to their weapons she tensed knowing they were guns she looked up at the one smoking a cigar as he smirked at her. "They won't wake up... my family won't wake up" the men looked at the table there was cake with the candle 6 on it giving away it was her sixth birthday "Aww we ruined her birthday." "Don't worry little girl we'll make it so you sleep forever too" she jumped a little when one cocked his gun after reloading the clip she shook her head but they laughed at her reaction. "No offense brat we don't leave loosen ends" she turned to try and wake David but still nothing "David please... I don't like this feelin I feel around me... Eric... Oliver... Neil... please help me." "You die" her eyes went wide at the words the next thing she knew she didn't hear anything she turned to find the men were all laying on the floor groaning in pain then she saw men in black uniforms with guns rushing in she hid she was told if she ever seen police with their guns out she was to hide she watched in silence as one cop called in the murdered scene.

After everything was done she walked around the apartment gathering things she would need she would need to go to one of the other safe houses in the city she looked where David had been she now understood what he meant she was alone now and no one but herself will be looking out for her she would continue to use her skills to help those that needed it. That was how she was for over 10 years until she picked the pocket of the wrong person she was almost out of sight until she found him in the alley she was about to turn into he held his hand out "Alright kid I'll give you some credit I didn't feel it but I need that back now so just hand it over and you won't... hey!" She ran something about him made her run and he found she was fast she was almost to the path to get to her safe house until the wind picked up then she looked to see a woman with long white hair floating in front of her with pure white eyes she frowned at who looked homeless "Logan this child is fending for himself you should just help him out." Mary's eyebrow rose at the woman calling her him she turned to find the man who she believed was Logan he walked towards them shaking his head "The kid is a thief we can't encourage that" "We could change his mind child would you like a warm meal and a place to stay we can care for you until your parents come for you." The word made her growl for some reason but then she lowered her head "My family is gone" she hadn't spoken to anyone in a long time she mostly did everything in silence no one needed to know she was there and none had to talk to her they looked at her saddened with the news she was alone the woman held her hand towards her. "Then you can come with us we'll give you a place to stay" Mary looked up at the woman trying to read her she could sense she didn't mean her no harm she glanced at the man behind her "You don't have to worry about Logan he will not harm you" she kept her eyes on him so she could sense him she found he could be dangerous but not towards her. She turned back to the woman in front of her "My name is Ororo that is Logan what is your name child?" she stared at her hand as she tried to remember what name her family called her little angel was a nickname she bit her lip as she tried hard then looked up at her "Mary" they looked at her confused which she couldn't help but smirk a little "Yes I'm a girl." "Sorry for mistaking you for a boy... well no matter you will be happy with us we have others there as well" she narrowed her eyes a little "It's not a place for..." "No it's a school of sorts but we want to help those that need it" Mary could understand helping people but she didn't need it though she could tell they wanted to stop her thieving. Though they wouldn't be able to she could keep her skills sharp if need be "I guess" she followed behind them to the vehicle they rode in when they got to the mansion she saw how big it was even whistled when she walked inside she jumped back when someone fully blue just appeared in front of her "KURT!" He turned at the yell and saw Logan and Ororo glaring at him he stepped back "Sorry I was just... oh whose the new student?" "Don't change the subject elf you know you shouldn't be popping up like that or without you image inducer on this isn't a student" at hearing that Kurt stepped back more and pushed a button on his watch. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to... I'll just go" Mary was a little confused unaware of her coming towards him he felt something touch his tail he grabbed it and found she had her hand out "Sorry I didn't mean to offend you I... is that real?" they looked at her unsure of what her reaction would be "Yes it's real it's a part of me I'm a mutant." At him saying he was a mutant made her look at him confused he could see she wasn't afraid of him he let his tail go then moved it to shake her hand she laughed a little at it acting like an extra hand "It doesn't feel sharp but it looks like an arrow tip" "You're not afraid of me?" she looked at him with an eyebrow raised "Why would I be afraid of you?" He stared at her shocked at her words "I mean you're a teen like me right?" "Right" he was a little too happy because the next minute he grabbed her hand and teleported into the rec room to introduce her to the others "Everyone this is the new student and he's not afraid of me" the group looked at him then at the new person. "Kurt you're not supposed to teleport the new kid without permission"

Mary felt strange when he teleported with her in tow she turned at Logan and Ororo ran to the doors "Are you alright he didn't frighten you did he?" "I'm fine that was new must come in handy when ya might be needin to run but not use that in public." "That's right he shouldn't be using is power without thought" they looked at the man coming in a mobile wheelchair "Sorry Professor but I was just happy I'm making a friend that isn't afraid of how I look" Charles smiled at him hinting he had forgiven him "And it's nice to meet another who isn't prejudice on human and mutant welcome to my school for gifted youngsters Mary." At hearing her name they looked at her shocked she smirked a little she pulled her hood down to let them see her hair in a ponytail she smirked at Kurt "Sorry I thought you..." "Don't worry I got those two the same way" that made the group laugh at the thought Logan mistaken a girl for a boy "Keep it up and all of you will have a session with me." Her eyebrow rose at him saying that Charles moved towards her "Let me clarify we are mutants and as such I made this school to help others to learn control of their powers some have special cases as for Kurt and Scott but you are not like them which is not a problem I welcome a new addition and since you aren't judgmental I see no reason you couldn't stay with us." The fact he was so open to her staying for a while surprised her she smiled a little "Well introduction are in order I'm Charles Xavier the founder of this school" she turned when he raised his hand she saw the others stand "I'm Scott" "I'm Jean that's Kitty and Rogue" the girl in the pink sweater waved "We are like totally going to be best friends right Rogue?" Rogue who had white bangs with her brown hair looked at Mary she looked her over then shrugged "Sure whatever" Mary could pick up instantly she felt like an outcast she could relate with her "They have the choice to tell you what their powers are if they wish..." "That's fine I wouldn't want to pressure them into revealin themselves since we just met." They stared at her surprised she would agree with Professor Xavier so soon Kitty walked over to her she tried to grab her hand but Mary pulled it away just before she could touch her "I wasn't going to hurt you" "It's not that... you can ask me to follow unless you teleport like him still early to travel that way so no thanks." "Kurt you scared her" "I didn't mean to..." "I wasn't scared just not want to do that again... until I feel more comfortable with the idea" they looked at her Kurt smiled at her saying that Kitty shrugged "Well I was like going to lead you up to the rooms nothing else and my power is I can like walk through walls and stuff" and she demonstrated by walking through the door. Her eyebrows went up at seeing it 'Would have been handy if I could have done that when...' Jean stared at her as she tried to read her mind but all she could pick up was she was remembering something sad "Are you alright?" Mary looked at her confused "What?" "I felt you were sad I mean your thoughts seemed sad." She stared at her for a minute before her eyes narrowed "You can read minds" they saw her get defensive "I didn't mean to... I didn't hear anything just felt your were remembering something sad... powers are telepathy and telekinesis" she frowned at seeing the professor shaking his head "Jean is trying to control not hearing thoughts I hope you will forgive her." Mary looked away at trying to think if she should though confused on how she couldn't hear her thoughts she looked at her "Are you honest in sayin you couldn't hear my thoughts?" Jean looked at her and nodded she crossed her arms as she nodded "Try readin my mind right now I'm thinkin of somethin" Jean was a little surprised she would willingly allow her so she did. 'I never seen anyone with such red hair' she was waiting for her to repeat her thought Jean tried to focus but didn't repeat "I couldn't hear it why didn't I hear her thought professor?" Mary looked at Charles when he moved next to her "Mary may I try... forgive me I'm a telepath I am much stronger than Jean is that is why she is learning control." Mary stared at him a little surprised to learn he had a power so she shrugged and thought the same thought he closed his eyes to listen he opened his eyes surprised "It seems you have a well-guarded mind not even I could hear your thoughts" her eyebrow rose at him saying that "What does that even mean?" "It just means you wouldn't be able to suffer mind control." Her eyes went a little wide at hearing such "There are some out there that could do that?" "I'm afraid it is a relief you wouldn't be used... though I haven't even asked if you wish to live here it will be no trouble but I do have a condition" her eyebrow rose "You will be attending school with the others that is all I ask." "And here I thought ya might be askin for blood" he smiled a little at her light humor "No I wouldn't ask such a thing but I hope in time you will open up to us if you ever need to talk you can find me in my study and Ororo and Logan are here to help if you need it all you need to do is ask for it and we'll give it I hope you like it here."
