Harry Potter and the Return of the Death Eaters

Prologue

PLACE: Wizengamot holding cells 109-110, Ministry of Magic, London
TIME: 30 May, 1998, 11:15PM

Rodolphus Lestrange was sitting in his holding cell at the Ministry of Magic. His master, Lord Voldemort, had been killed by Harry Potter a month before, and all of Voldemort's followers had been arrested by the Ministry – all except the traitor, Lucius Malfoy, his wife, Narcissa, and his son, Draco. Rodolphus's brother, Rabastan, was with him in custody, but his wife, Bellatrix, had been killed by Molly Weasley just before Voldemort's death for trying to kill the Weasley girl – what was her name? Jenny? Something like that.

"Rabastan," Rodolphus whispered.

"Rodolphus?" came a whisper from the other cell.

"Yes," Rodolphus answered.

"Shall we do it tonight?" asked Rabastan. When Rodolphus and Rabastan were arrested, they had duplicated their wands and the originals visible only to themselves. When the time came, they would escape, release the former Death Eaters (Voldemort's followers), recruit some followers of their own, and avenge Voldemort's death from Harry Potter, the blood traitor Ronald Weasley, and the Mudblood Hermione Granger.

"Yes," Rodolphus said.

"On the count of three, we blow up the doors," Rabastan said. "One…"

Rodolphus took out his wand.

"Two…"

He pointed it at the door.

"Three."

"Confringo!" he whispered. The door shattered.

An alarm wailed. A guard came running. "Lestrange!" the guard shouted.

"Avada Kedavra!" Rabastan said, and with a flash of green light, the guard fell over, dead.

"Evanesco," Rodolphus muttered. The guard disappeared.

"Good work," said Rabastan. "Now what?"

"Now," said Rodolphus, "we Apparate away from here ASAP."

They turned on the spot and disappeared.
