"Let's go, bud."
Toothless took off from the cliff, shooting up into the clouds, with Hiccup on his back. Once they were above the clouds, he spread his wings out as far as they could go, peacefully gliding through the air.
After a few minutes, Hiccup steered Toothless back below the clouds. "Okay, bud, let's go home."
As they soared towards home, Hiccup heard a voice behind him.
"Hey, Hiccup!"
He turned.
Astrid was right behind him, slowly gaining on him on her Deadly Nadder, Stormfly. "Are you up for a bit of dragon racing?" She asked with a smile.
"I'm always up for dragon racing."
They flew to the edge of the cliff and readied themselves.
"Oh, and just so you know," Hiccup said, "I'm going to win."
Astrid raised an eyebrow. "We'll see about that."
They both shot into the sky at the same time as fast as they could. Hiccup concentrated only on speed for a minute, before noticing that Astrid was nowhere to be seen.
"Hey bud, where'd Astrid go? ASTRID?" He yelled.
No reply.
"What if she fell? We have to go back and look for her." Hiccup began to turn Toothless around.
Suddenly, Astrid shot up from below, and sped ahead of them. "Who's winning now?" She called over her shoulder.
She reached the finishing point, with Hiccup coming only seconds behind her. He got off Toothless and walked over to her.
"That was cheating! What kind of a person makes another person think they-"
Astrid grabbed his shirt and kissed him.
When she pulled away a second later, Hiccup had a dazed look on his face.
"You win," he said.
Astrid smiled. "I know."
Also, thank you guys so much for all your great feedback on my other one shot! I think I'm going to write a story with more chapters, probably about Astrid's jealousy of Heather! What do you guys think?
