Simple World
A/N: This is a rewrite of the FMA OVA "Simple World, but it only consists of the part with Rebecca and Riza. I didn't like the way it ended, so I changed the ending. Well in reality I just continued the conversation.
I am doing this on pure memory so if the dialogue isn't exact, sorry.

"Hey Riza, your hair's getting really long. Are you planning on growing it out?" Rebecca asked her best friend as she slammed her locker shut.
"I'd been thinking about it." She studied a chunk of hair that had been resting on her shoulder. It was nice her hair was long enough now that she could see it. Made the job of hunting for split ends much easier. "But you're right, it is getting long. I might need to start tying it back. It is getting in my face."
"Hey why did you decide to grow it out anyways? It's not very like you to just do something on impulse. What inspired you?" Rebecca peered at her friend with a curious eye. Her other eye shut for the emphasis of studying her.
"No reason really. I just met this girl in Risenbool that had long hair and I thought it looked nice." Riza said as she loaded some barrels into her shot gun.
"That's a really simple reason for changing something as important as hair."
Riza rolled her eyes. "Yes, I wouldn't want to accidentally ruin something sooo important."
"Hey studies say that guys really focus on hair when thinking about getting a girlfriend. If you don't have good hair the probability of getting a guy is really low." Rebecca opened her one closed eye. "But seriously, that is an awfully simple answer."
Riza closed her locker door and tucked her key into her pocket. She turned to her friend shrugging her shoulders. "In the end it's really just a simple world." Rebecca pulled open the door to the locker room, letting Riza exit before she did so herself. "You shoot a person and they die." Riza said as she looked at the sky, as if looking at all the people she had killed herself. Rebecca thought that if she kept furrowing her brows like that she was going to get wrinkles.
Lieutenant Hawkeye cocked and leveled her gun towards her target. The echo still flowed through the air even after she had already made a hole, right though the dummy's head. "You shoot someone and they die," Riza repeated.
Rebecca smirked and leveled her own gun. "No it really isn't that simple. They could be moving too fast and you could end up only injuring them. Or you could end up shooting the wrong target. Or you could end up hitting something unimportant as… say… their ear cartilage. She narrowed her eyes at the target dummy. "Or you could always just—" Once the dust cleared you could see that her shot hadn't hit the target but the wall behind it. "—miss."
Riza rolled her eyes once again. "Stop wasting military bullets Rebecca."
"You're just pissed because I'm right." Rebecca's nose was turned up towards the air.
"For once," Riza smirked.
Rebecca laughed along with her friend. But once she finished she turned back towards Riza with a serious expression. "You can always shoot, but that doesn't always mean you'll hit you're desired target. You just have to learn to not get as disappointed and try to get as close as you can.
Riza smiled at the ground with admiration that should be directed towards her friend. "I'll remember that." Riza said before aiming at the dummy again.

A/N: Review!
The world is not simple. And trying to believe it is, is just another roadblock in your way. Just accept the fact that the world is too large to be simple. -Me
