A.N. DO NOT READ PAST THIS SENTENCE IF YOU HAVE NOT FINISHED HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE! IT CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS. This is my first poem, so feel free to criticize, compliment, and comment as much as you want. In case you can't figure it out yourself, "me" is Harry, and "you" is Cedric. This poem is about how Harry feels after Cedric died. Anyway, this is my first poem, so please tell me what you think of it. REVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry, Cedric, Moody, Voldemort, or the idea of portkeys. J.K. and her publishers do. I only own this poem. I'm not making money off of this, so don't sue me.

Why was it you?
Why not me?
Did this have to happen?
Was it meant to be?

I look down at you,
But you can't see.
For you've been slain,
Was this meant to be?

Whose fault is this?
Was it because of me?
Or was it someone else?
Was this meant to be?

It's part my fault,
I suggested that we
would take it together.
Was this meant to be?

ItÕs Moody's fault,
He made it a portkey.
For that, you died.
Was this meant to be?

It's mostly, though,
Voldemort's fault, for he's
The root of all this evil,
Was this meant to be?

You're drowned, but I'm saved,
In life's tumultuous sea,
Why was it you who had to drown,
Was this meant to be?

It's just not fair, not any of this,
I tell you quietly,
You should have survived,
Was this meant to be?

I don't understand,
Why wasn't it me,
Why did I survive, but you die?
Was this meant to be?

I look down at you,
You stare back at me,
Unknowing, unfeeling,
Was this meant to be?

What did you do,
For you to die but not me?
Why must it be like this?
Was this meant to be?

You did nothing,
I know it inside me,
You didn't deserve this,
Was this meant to be?

A single tear slides down
My face, ever so silently,
And I ask myself, one more time:
Was this meant to be?
