If I know one thing that's true

It's the I'm never leaving you

And you don't say much, that's true

But I lose it when you do

Don't let them tell no lies

Love don't die

-The Fray, Love Don't Die

I shouldn't be here. He chose her. I came out of the dark shadows of his room. My heart warmed at the sight of my best friend sleeping, soundlessly, on his bed.

I began walking closer to him when I heard a hiss. My dark eye's met her rich blue eye's. A menacing growl escaped my curled lips. My canines sharpening.

"That's close enough, dog." Elynia's fangs sharp, as her voice whispered soft, careless words to me.

"You won't get away with it, Elynia. He'll find out… As he always does." A low snarl erupted in my throat.

"I will. I always do. You were too late, Jakilynn. Go run along,... dog." Elynia smiled with darkness.

Her smile only made my blood boil hotter in fury. I saved Matt. I cared for him. She left. Now, she's claiming him again by turning him.

She's not getting away with it. It won't happen. I won't allow it. The last sentence ran through my head numerous times, in the packs voice's. I growled, crouching low. Taking note of the open french doors to the balcony, and to the forest floor.

I won't risk hurting him. I attacked her, our teeth bared and shining in the dim moonlight. I shoved the vampire off the balcony railing, and onto the forest floor.

The fall broke us apart. Loud, furious snarls left Elynia's lips.I rolled onto my feet, crouched low, I studied her movements. A plan forming in my head.

I wouldn't kill her, I couldn't hurt Matthew. I would never hurt Matthew. Unlike her.

The red-pink heart on my left wrist glew. "Don't do it." The voice was a pleading, command. I obeyed, but I knew she was going to kill me. What would happen to Matthew?
