Companion Cube and Chell

The homicidal Reaper came today,

She made promises of confetti and cake

If you burned your best friend (she wasn't past her heyday)

But she needed new parts for the cake she'll make,

Or so she said, but it's a like the cake.

Companion Cube took lasers and Turrets for you,

So willing and sacrificial like a grey angel.

A bond you formed with it and GLaDOS knew

It kept you sane while you were being mangled,

But GLaDOS grew very bored with your saneness.

The final test for the cake came

In form of a death sentence to Companion Cube.

Did you ever wonder if it knew your name

I swear I could hear it screaming, "Was it worth the food?"

You died that day too just like GLaDOS planned.

Wheatley came one day and turned GLaDOS into a potato.

"Serves her right," You rejoiced, while Wheatley plotted.

Wheatley wanted you as red as a tomato,

It was then that his sanity became rotten.

You were on his list of those wanted dead.

It was then you teamed up with the potato monster

Just to gain your freedom and her control back.

She used to hint that you were a foster,

But now she speaks of vengeance and counterattacks.

She's almost as useful as a combustible lemon.

The end came swift and fast like Companion Cube's death.

She got her body back and sent you to the Turrets,

You nearly screamed, "You're the worst monster I've ever met!"

They didn't kill you, but sang about goodbyes and how much it hurts.

The higher you went, the fainter the melody became.

A field of golden wheat greets your disbelief.

Enough wheat here to make a cake that's true,

Eat a cake to feed your grief.

Pop and bang you heard, and wondered who.

Out pops your charred, intact Companion Cube.
