Lightning Strikes Twice
Prologue: Escaping Family
Lightning panted, the small white hedgehog leaning against one of the iron-plated walls Eggman seemed to love so much. Everything seemed so hopeless. The Egg-Carrier was falling, he couldn't find Techa, his sister, and from what he had just seen, all heck was breaking out in the forest below.
Some blue substance had flooded the forest moments before, and… and…
That didn't matter, finding Techa was Lightning's main objective, and he was going to stay focused no matter what! So what if the ship around him was tearing itself to pieces? If he ran away now, what would he have in common with his hero, Sonic? Other, of course, than the being hedgehogs… freaky super-fast hedgehogs… he shook his head. Focus!
As Lightning turned, he saw a glint of yellow just before a laser-bolt flew over his head, almost nailing him. And there, in all of that hideous metal Dr. Robotnic had dressed her in, was his sister… or rather, the robot 'Zeta' E-161 that contained and maintained Techa, using her like a battery. Lightning growled, a highpitched, whiney noise coming from the hyped-up hedgehog. "Stand down! I dun wanna hurt yah!"
Zeta laughed mechanically. "Hurt me? Why, Hedgehog, I will destroy you as a primary weapons test for the blue one!" It raised its gun again, but by the time it had, Lightning had burst into action. He jumped against the wall, his body moving almost impossibly fast as he jumped off of the wall and curled up, slamming into his former-sisters' chest… and slamming the two of them out a hole in the wall that hadn't been there earlier… or at least, that's what Lightning swore.
