"Vulpix, Absol! And you, too, Magikarp! Get up, get up…"
I flopped over on my stomach in annoyance. I wasn't waking up for my trainer now. I was too tired from all the Pokéathons I had been forced to compete in 3 days in a row. A bit curious, anyway, I forced open my eyes into tiny slits, and I saw Absol and Magikarp perky and ready for my trainer, Kade's instructions.
I didn't like Kade. He was too ready to do anything, and always forced me into competitions. He had tons of Pokemon, and used only a select few like me. I would rather relax in my stuffy Pokéball then work with him.
Back to the situation, I saw both of them looking up at Kade, their eyes full of happiness. Absol looked ready enough, but Magikarp wasn't really ready for anything, though, because he was flopping all over the wood floor. He still listened anyway. Those traitors. I closed my eyes again and put my paws over my face.
"Hey, Vulpix, are you listening?" Kade leaned a bit to try and see my face. He then looked down the other Pokémon again. "Whatever. Okay, then, guys! Listen to this! We're moving to…"
I fell asleep again before he could say whatever he wanted to. Not like I wanted to hear it.
I dreamt of berries and Poffins, something Kade almost never gave me. Such a tempting dream, and I wanted to stay in it forever. I soon realized that I would soon have to return to reality, so the dream ceased and I woke up to the sunshine and Absol in my face. Great.
"Vulpix! You fell asleep. You didn't hear what he said, did you?" Absol was poking me with her sharp claws.
Absol was Kade's princess. He always gave her everything, and she didn't have to work at all. Heck, she even leeched off all of his other Pokémon like me with her Experience Share. Same for Magikarp, though he'll be treated like the others once he evolves. Besides Magikarp, Absol is my friend because she is nice, but I still envy her for the aforementioned reasons.
"Vulpix, listen!" Absol screamed. I had been looking at some Beautifly in the distance, so that must have irritated her.
I groaned in annoyance as I shifted my focus back to Absol.
"Ok, so Vulpix, we're moving." Absol smiled.
"I picked up that much."
"We're moving to Unova! You didn't catch that, though, right?"
Unova? I'd heard about it and seen it on Kade's posters, but I never thought we'd be going there. It looked like a cool place, with its towers and stuff. I didn't feel like moving, though.
"Meh." I said, getting up and stretching. One of these days, I was going away. I was going to live in the wilderness and use my moves for good, not for stupid competitions. In Unova, I could impress some local Pokémon with my exoticness, too. Whatever happened, I was leaving. For good.
"Come on, Vulpix, it'll be awesome! All the cool Pokémon we'll meet will be amazing! And…" Absol suddenly looked up, frozen and seeming to sense something. She looked back at me after the sudden stoppage. "Oh, sorry, just thought I sensed something."
"What disaster now?"
"I don't know what it is. I can just sense it. But any who," she said, "Yay! A new place to explore!"
From all the Absols I've met, she seemed the mellowest about impeding disasters. It could be far away anyway, and we'd be in a whole other region before it could hit. The Pokémon I lived with are crazy. Ah, I could not wait to get on that boat, arrive at Unova, and sprint.
To be continued...
Short, but I'll add more later!
