This was designed to be a script: not much action, but possibility for vocal work and lighting effects. Standard Disclaimer: These are my ideas; I have no literal Scriptural basis for them. Some concepts were derived from "The Mind of the Maker" by Dorothy L. Sayers. I highly recommend this book.

The Cast: 3 people: male voice to represent God the Father, male voice to represent God the Son, female voice to represent the Holy Spirit.

The Gimmick: All three actors read all lines in unison. There can be some variation in inflection, but the timing must be the same. The distinction of who is "talking" is made by volume adjustment: one voice will be louder than the others.

The over-riding emotion of these lines is joy, delight in one another's existence and relationship.

Before the beginning of time…

Father: Noble Son!

Son: Lord Father!

F & S: Living Spirit!

Spirit: Designer! Builder!

All: You are wonderful. You are beautiful. I love you.

Father: I have an idea.

Spirit: I see your idea. I comprehend; I understand.

Son: Let me build it for you, Father! I will give substance to your thought; give form to your intent.

Spirit: And I will speak through this construction. I will sing, I will dance; in unity and diversity; in power and complexity. I will reveal to you your thought!

Father: The Idea contains choice. Where there is choice there is the possibility of pain.

Spirit: Yes, but it also allows for a depth of glory unattainable without choice.

Son: The Idea encompasses both, doesn't it? I see choices, branches, but none that can escape the Idea.

Father: The Idea… can… encompass any possible choice.

Spirit: There is an Absence.

Son: What?

Spirit: In the Idea there is an Absence. If this Absence is not filled, the Idea will crumble.

Father: Yes, we need an Agent within the Idea, someone to mend the brokenness that choice will almost certainly bring about.

Son: I will fill the Absence with myself. Not only will I mend any brokenness, I will redeem it!

Father: If you do this, you will be hurt. We will suffer unimaginable pain.

Spirit: And what would be the reward if he should do this?

Father: The brightness of my approval. The reflection of my pride in his accomplishment. Love and honor such that the Idea will not be able to contain them.

Son: Most noble father, even without any reward it is my joy to obey you. This joy will sustain me through any pain.

Spirit: Then let us begin. See! The Idea!

Son: I see it! I comprehend it! I give it form and substance! Let there be… LIGHT!
