A/N: At the end of Hero's II, Kate is nervous when talking to Magnus. Everything is mine except for the dialogue in the beginning which is from the ep. Thought this needed to be addressed.

Helen Magnus was hard pressed to find the newest member of her time. Kate had all but disappeared after she was released from the infirmary. Helen had found her sitting on a window sill on a floor of the Sanctuary that was not readily used. Moving towards the younger woman she braced herself for the conversation.

Kate spoke first as she watched Magnus saunter towards her. "Is, ugh, everyone still mad at me?"

"They'll get over it." Helen sat next to the girl in front of the window; Kate looked so young and lost. "Hurt pride more than anything else." Looking out the window Helen asked her, "So what are you doing up here? Thinking of places the suit could take you?"

Kate new the answer to that one already, it was no contest, "No, I'm just happy to be home."

Helen nodded in response; she knew what the young woman felt like. It was confusing to have your body taken over by impulses and to be out of control of hours of your life and still remember every moment of it. She looked away from the girl until she heard her soft voice again.

"You sure you're not mad at me. I mean I did try to kill you."

Helen scoffed at that, "Everyone's tried to kill me at least once Kate, don't be so hard on yourself. At least you did succeed. Will did. Once."

"I'm sorry what?" Kate did a double take.

Magnus grinned, "You should ask him about it. It could be very enlightening."

"I think I might do just that." She waited a few beats before standing and making her way to Will's office. "Dude, you killed Magnus?"

He took a deep breath and let out a groan. "Ok, who told you?"

"Magnus."

"Interesting." He leaned back in his chair and threw the pen he had been holding onto the desk. "Yes, I killed Helen Magnus."

"Seriously?"

"Hey, I brought her back to life!"

Kate snorted her response before turning serious again, "Was she angry?"

"No, I think she rather quite enjoyed it actually." He grinned, "She wasn't happy at the time for sure, but she did have a sea dwelling parasite feeding on her brain at the time. I think she just found the entire situation amusing afterwards. I, however, did not. I had only been working for her shortly and even though I knew it was irrational I thought she would fire me over it. I mean, really, who was I to kill the head of the Sanctuary network?"

Kate nodded and folded her arms over her chest, "How'd you get over it?"

He pulled a one shoulder shrug before answering, "Time. Look, she won't hold it against you ever. The rest of us, give us a few days until something else happens to distract us." Her head bobbed up and down as she turned to look throwing thanks over her shoulder.
