Disclaimer: I don't own Lord of the Rings or any of it's characters and I cannot claim to hope to do justice to the genious of Tolkien with any of my writing- yet I do it respectfully as an ardent admirer of Middle Earth with it's evils and innocence alike. Thus my story is humbly submitted.

LADY OF THE MORNING

GIMLI:

Lady of the Morning

In your elven land so fair

Such lovely face of sorrow

Framed by brilliant golden hair

This vision's growing smaller

As I start to drift away

My aching heart is begging

To know if I'll be back

…someday.

ARAGORN:

Oh, Lady of the Morning

How you know my heart's desire!

I've been waiting for the Evening

For that blessed Evenstar

Lady of the Morning

With hair blazing in the sun

Much more hopeful than the evening

Who has sorrow yet to come.

SAM:

Lady of the Morning

Please, please tell me what to do

Should I turn around, go back

Or to the journey remain true?

FRODO:

In the shadows of the evening

Solve reflected mystery

I'm fainting and I'm falling

I can't breathe and I can't see

FRODO:

Ringbearer

SAM:

And elf-queen

FRODO:

Advisor

SAM:

And friend

FRODO:

Lady of the Morning

Meet me at my journey's end.

BOROMIR:

Lady of the Morning

Dare I trust your subtlety?

For your hidden might and power

I'm not too naïve to see.

SAM:

Lady of the Morning

Please, PLEASE show me the way!

A light in darkness you had said

I've got to save the day!

FRODO:

Lady of the Morning

The sun's going down at last

You'll fade into the evening

Now the burden's finally past

SAM:

Please don't leave, sweet lady

My tears and pain are plain to see

For when you go you're taking

One so precious, dear tome.

FRODO:

Today now I go with you

For my story here is done

We'll sail into a new day

As we chase the setting sun.

SAM: (fading)

Namarie.

The day is done.
