I had nothing to do. This was meant to be a little longer, but... idk.

Enjoy my shortest story ever!

Engagement

Percy had been sweating beads for nothing. He should have known that Annabeth wouldn't refuse him. Everyone knew that they would eventually end up with each other… given that they survive long enough.

The moment he knelt down on his knee, his heart already pretty much stopped beating inside his chest. For a while he couldn't get the question pass his lips. He was motionless despite being a demigod with ADHD. Annabeth simply stood there looking at him expectantly. Percy couldn't even read the emotion in her eyes; although they remain the thunderous gray he had grown to love and fear. He wasn't sure if the lack of emotion was good or bad.

Then he asked her.

For a few seconds, Annabeth remained standing there doing nothing and Percy wondered if she heard the question or if she was just thinking of a polite way to say no. That Percy was nothing but a Seaweed Brain and that she didn't think of him that way. That he was pretty stupid. That she was actually going to break up with him tonight and would want nothing more to do with him.

"What took you so long, Seaweed Brain?" she had asked him.

It wasn't what Percy had expected; in fact, it wasn't anywhere near what he thought she'd say. Leave it to Annabeth to surprise him every time.

The daughter of Athena rolled her eyes and probably thought he was stupid, again. "Yes, I will marry you. Does that spell things out for you, Seawe – "She never got to finish her words. Percy stood up and kissed her already.

Walking back to the campfire with the widest grin on the planet, Percy was feeling extra hyped up. His ADHD might have multiplied for he was so restless and was constantly making little movements. Leo Valdez who was a seriously ADHD demigod would seem almost normal next to him. He never let go of Annabeth's hand though, the one with the ring. He swayed their entwined hands and looked at Annabeth from time to time. She was smiling, too, and would occasionally roll her eyes at him whenever she noticed that he was looking at her with the widest grin. Once or twice, he even kissed her ring finger.

The song of the Apollo campers grew louder and louder until everyone came into view. Percy looked at Annabeth and he was glad to see her smile at him as her hands held unto his tighter. He mirrored her smile and squeezed her hand back. Together, they went to join everyone else knowing that the moment one camper saw the ring on Annabeth's hand, people would be showering them with questions and congratulations. Percy didn't mind. All he could think of was that he was finally spending forever with Annabeth Chase, his girlfriend, and now fiancée. After everything they've been through, they were finally getting their well deserved happily ever after. Nothing else mattered but that.
