A Wedding to Remember
Hermione smiled at Ron as she said the two words that would seal the deal, "I do."
Ron grinned back at her. After seven years of fighting and three years of dating they had finally tied the knot.
The justice of the peace announced, "I know declare you wizard and wife."
Hermione kissed Ron and the room burst into clapping.
After the guests and the congratulations left and headed for the reception Harry, Ron and Hermione had a chance to talk.
Harry, who had been the best man, kissed his girlfriend Ginny, who had been the maid of honor. "I'll catch up with you."
Ginny glanced from Harry to Hermione and Ron, and then back to Harry. "All right."
After she left the big black dog that had been watching everything morphed into the man known as Sirius Black. "Wonderful ceremony."
Hermione smiled and hugged him, "Thanks."
"Soon." Ron said. "Mum said the ministry is beginning to doubt your guilt and soon you'll be free."
Black shrugged, "It won't matter much until Voldemort-" Ron flinched, "is caught."
Harry nodded, "I can't wait for trouble free days."
Black agreed, "Only trouble tends to find you no matter what. Just like-" He stopped as a lump formed in his throat.
"My father?" Harry asked.
Black looked at him. His face was still very pale from his Azkaban. Even after all these years he was still pale. "Like both Lily and James."
There was an uncomfortable silence until Hermione said, "We really appreciate it that you've come this far just for us."
Ron bobbed his head, "Yes we really do."
Black clapped Ron's back and kissed Hermione's forehead, "I wouldn't miss it for the world." He turned to Harry, "I am so looking forward to your wedding."
Ron sniggered, "So is Ginny."
Harry shrugged, "We're not that serious yet. I mean she just got out of Hogwarts."
"Yeah," Hermione chimed in, "TWO years ago. She's only a year younger than you Harry."
Harry sighed, "I know."
"And besides," Black said, "If you love her now might be a good time to marry her."
They all knew what he meant. These were very dark times. And none of them knew when their last day would be. Harry pulled a box out of his coat, "I know."
Ron's mouth dropped, "I don't believe it! You're going to propose to her!"
Harry gave a small nod. If someone had told him years ago that he would be in love with Ginny Weasley he would have called them insane. "I'm going to wait until tomorrow though to ask her."
Hermione suddenly became very stern, "No you won't. You are going to ask her as soon as you see her at the reception."
Harry's eyes widened, "But tonight is your-"
Ron cut him off, "Rubbish! Ask her tonight! Oh. Mum'll freak. Losing two kids to marriage in the same year! Even Charlie and Bill aren't married yet."
Harry tried not to laugh. Black shook his head, "Well we'd better get going before they send a search party."
Hermione nodded her agreement, "Lets go."
Black transformed back into a dog and they headed out.
Later that evening Harry did propose to Ginny, both to her and Mrs. Weasley's delight.
