A/N: This is a really random one-shot. Super random, & it's my first one-shot. I was initially turning this into a story but it was definitely better suited as a one-shot. Enjoy! PS: I'm assuming Jamie is what, nine years older than Lydia? Anyway, read away. I know it's kind of random and cheesy, but I'm bored and I love Naley, what can I say.

Nathan Scott lay awake restlessly, flipping through the channels. It was late, nearing one in the morning. His wife, Haley, was half asleep beside him. They'd just gotten in from visiting Lucas and Peyton, Nathan's brother, Haley's best friend, and in-laws, in Los Angeles. It was a tiring flight back to the east coast, especially with a cranky two year old and a restless eleven year old. Nathan and Haley couldn't sit on the plane with each other, as there were only two seats to choose from, window or aisle. Haley sat with Lydia, and Nathan sat with Jamie. Lydia had decided she wanted to sit with her daddy at first, but then insisted on sitting with Haley. She couldn't make up her mind but settled in and decided to not let go of Haley throughout the whole flight. The couple attempted the whole "mile high" thing, but it didn't work out, especially with their young, innocent children down the aisle.

Nathan held onto Haley's hand, stroking the back with his thumb. It was moments like those that he cherished; the simple, nonchalant ones. The ones that nobody else really noticed, but he did, and it meant a lot to him. He continued to look through the channels when he found an old concert taping of his wife, and the infamous Chris Keller. He distinctly remembered the night Haley announced she'd been offered to tour with The Wreckers and Chris Keller. Nathan didn't admit that he was simply scared of losing Haley. He wanted her to live her dreams, so badly, but what had hurt him was Haley not inviting him to come with her. He knew it wasn't about her loving Chris Keller more than she loved him, she married him, but he became angry anyway, and stayed that way for months. Truthfully, he was incredibly proud of her, and he kept all the articles he found of her. She was immensely talented, and although it was a rough road for the then, newlywed, teenage couple, he was glad that she had the experience many teenage girls would kill for.

Haley and Chris' infamous duet, When The Stars Go Blue filled Nathan's ears. He remembered it all too well. He listened to the lyrics carefully.

"Baby?" He spoke softly, not wanting to disturb her, but wanting to catch her attention. She was drifting off, and he wished he was too.

"Mhm?" Her faint voice replied, not even opening her eyes. He could tell she was still fully alert.

"Where do you go when you're lonely, or sad, or if you're upset?" Nathan asked. He felt cheesy, considering he was listening to the song, but he asked in spite of curiosity and probably also exhaustion.

"I go to you," she said honestly. "I love you. I trust you with my life, you're my husband, you're my best friend, you're the father of my children. I go to you for everything, I know you'll always be here for me and that's why I love you." With that, she rolled onto his chest; he placed a soft kiss on her head, and in the comfort and safety of each others arms, they fell into a peaceful slumber.
