Kids these days
Julie sees something familiar in Sami while Maggie thinks about Daniel's situation. Don't own Days. Set after scenes on 2/20/13. Alternative dialogue.
"I will get that paternity test!" Sami said.
Julie rolled her eyes. Didn't Sami know that whatever Sami did, Julie did twenty years earlier and in better fashion?
"Yes, I agree with that there should be one, but darling, shouldn't that be Gabi's choice? She's not denying that Will's the father. The three of them are trying to be very adult in a difficult situation. You storming about do nothing to help."
"You and the Hortons are just trying to protect Nick. Well, Will's a Horton, too!" Sami said.
"Only because you finally admitted Lucas was Will's father. And the Hortons are in a very difficult situation," Julie said, raising an eyebrow.
"That was different," Sami protested.
"And it was different when you found out about Johnny being E.J.'s?"
"How dare you throw that in my face? I slept with him to save Lucas' life."
"And the other times?"
"Get to the point, Julie. You obviously have one," Sami said.
"You hated when people try to tell you what's right for you to do. You're stubborn; always have to be involved, thinking only you are right and usually turns a bad situation worse. You and Kate have that in common," Julie said as Sami winced at the comparison.
"I'm right!"
"I'm sure you're right. But it's not your situation to be right in. Gabi will get a paternity test and it will turn out that Will's the father. Then the three of them, Will, Gabi and Nick will figure it out by themselves. Face it Sami. This is one situation you can't manipulate to your liking. If you do, you risk losing Will forever. Just something to think about," Julie picked up her purse and left.
Sami thought about how wrong Julie was.
Maggie shook three pills into her palm and swallowed them dry. The headache has been continuously for three days and the bottle of aspirin was halfway gone.
The constant battle between Daniel and Jennifer, Jennifer and Chloe, and Chloe and Victor was wearing on her. She supposed she should support the relationship between Jennifer and Daniel but that relationship will crash and burn eventually.
Yes, Chloe was manipulating Daniel. Of course she was. Why everyone was letting her run the game was a mystery to her. As soon as the test proved Parker was Daniel's, a lawyer should've been contracted and a custody arrangement in place. When Daniel insisted Chloe moved in with her and Victor, she should've said no.
But Daniel asked and she thought if Chloe lived there, she could keep an eye on her. But Victor ruined that plan.
Jennifer was sinking to Chloe's level and Maggie could hardly recognize her niece. The fact Jennifer was running around in circles and lying to keep Daniel was a waste of time. Daniel would eventually go back to Chloe out of obligation. Moving out of town, they would make it work, being miserable some of the time. Jennifer would look like the injured party and be pitied. This is how the situation would play out and they all knew it. They just didn't accept it and so the drama and plotting continued. Maggie sighed.
Julie walked into the Kirakis living room and saw Maggie on the couch deep in thought. She poured herself a drink and sat down next to her friend.
"Kids these days…" Julie sighed.
"Mmm-mmm." Maggie couldn't agree more.
And there was nothing more to say.
