"Hi, Nick."
The smartly dressed brunette strolled in, smirking
at Nick as she nonchalantly walked past him and
into the shoddy looking flat. "Wow, really living the
high life aren't we?" She commented, looking
thoroughly disgusted by the guy's current state of
living.
"Wow, I'm so glad you came to visit Sophie! Now if
you don't mind, I have stuff to do, like watching
paint dry," Nick smiled sarcastically back, holding
the door open for the woman to leave the same
way that she had arrived.
"Is this how you treat your guests?" She asked
with an amused expression, watching the sense of
daja vu trigger in his eye's.
"Just you." He said, stony faced, shaking the door
a little, as if trying to make some kind of point that
was apparently lost on the brunette, who continued
to leisurely stroll around the room at her own pace.
Nick frowned, "Suddenly transformed into a sniffer?"
He asked, watching Sophie examine his toothbrush.
Finally, the brunette turned her attention back
towards the man at hand. "...No." She said flatly,
dropping the toothbrush into the basin carelessly
and walking back to meet Nick in the middle of the
room, her arms folded defensively, the smirk gone,
a sense of seriousness descending over the pair of
them in the tiny flat.
"Why are you here, Sophie?" Nick asked, getting
impatient.
"Why are you here?" She repeated, throwing her
arms out and looking incredulously confused.
"Seriously Nick, I think you could have done a little
better than this dump." She said, turning her nose
up at the discoloured walls she could see behind
him.
But Nick had had enough of this game. He grabbed
Sophie's arm, pulling her towards him violently,
"I'm not playing Sophie, tell me what's going on. Now."
He said dangerously.
"You know I could take you out like 'that', right?"
She said, the smirk back as she clicked her fingers.
However, the tightening grip on her arm soon wiped
the smirk from her face as she begrudgingly faced
Nick again.
"I quit." She said gruffly, slipping out of Nick's grip.
"You've gone rogue?" He asked incredulously.
"Yeah, and now I need your help. That's what big
brother's are for, right?"
