A/N: I just couldn't resist! I'm such a sap for these two! Sadly, there's about only one other fic of these two together, but I'm hoping there will be more around the bend. I hope you enjoy, and don't mind the over-fluffiness. They deserve such a thing. xD
Perfection
He swears to God, the first time he kisses Zane, he tastes perfection. And happiness. The combination leaves him breathless, and he's only capable of a huge, glowing grin. The boy returns the expression and enters the cab which pulls away from the curb a few seconds later.
The excitement of the event lasting for hours, days even. Neither can forget the moment.
Less than three days afterwards, the two begin dating and decide wisely to take their public relationship cautiously slow. Although Riley's immensely into his boyfriend (he still feels uneasy using the term) he knows he won't be able to face his peers yet. It was too soon.
Zane knows, and reassures the jock that he'll be okay because he - his quirky self - was alright when he came out. This fact helps build up his courage, and so does Anya's occasional pep talks about being the real Riley Stavros and not the person people sought him out to be. Mainly because of his image.
After the two eventually (about two weeks into their romance) confront the eye of Degrassi, they become more subtle. They're supported by a surprisingly high amount of the students, and also hated. It was to be expected. The football player still receives glares and whispered curses behind his back. He lifts his chin high and reminds himself that its woth it. Being with Zane is worth it.
Of course, he loves every possible trait and feature of Zane, but one he appreciates most is the impossibilty of being mad at him. Even for someone with anger issues such as himself, Riley can't find one reason to be upset with the boy, he's too relaxing. Too contagiously calm and collected.
He's perfection and happiness in itself, and thats why he felt what he did during their first kiss. Those captivating brown eyes of his, and his heart-dropping smile practically radiate sweetness.
A sweetness in which Riley has wished to always experiance, time and time again. Simply put, he was in love with Zane. And he tells him this one month into their couplehood.
The two are at his apartment (the new boy had moved away from his parents one year ago - they had remained back in his hometown) and they had finished having a seemingly normal dinner. Despite the constant pounding of metal music that was reverbrating from the floor upstairs and the noise of a faint dripping water. Presumably from the leaking faucet.
Riley hestitates, but glances at the loving expression on his boyfriend's face. "I love you," He says, quite fast, and soon he worries it was too fast for the other teenage boy to hear. But a smile appears on Zane's handsome face, and his normally dark eyes light up.
"Riley... I love you too," He responds gently, grinning like he has done many times before. The way he's said his name sends shivers down his spine. It was a signal that he was about to lean in for a tender embrace.
The chorus of hallelujah basically rang through Riley's mind as he heard the anticipated three words and a great rush of emotion vibrated throughout his chest. Amidst his over-excitedness, the boy met the other's awaiting lips gladly.
Perfection, both thought. Happiness, it brought them.
So that was quick, and different from my usual writing. It was my first attempt at fluff and slash altogether. Hopefully you'll like it. :)
