God's Gift:

//God has sent you from above
A little gift for you to love//

I looked down at the small child in my arms.
When I found out that Hilde was going to have a baby I paniced. I thought it was the worst thing that could possibly happen to me.
We weren't ready for a family.
We weren't ready for such a change in life, but now I couldn't see myself without seeing the baby that I'm looking at now. Can't picture myself without picturing Solo, without seeing the child that reminded me soo much of my old friend.
Without seeing the violet eyed baby that I now held in my arms.

//A tender gift to watch and keep
To love and kiss and croon to sleep//

Many sacrifices had to be made. No more late night parties, foolish dreams, and wars.
I have a responsibility now.
Someone to protect, love, and Cheerish.

//Happy Father proud and blest
May your little treasure rest//

My hair fell around Solo and me. I have been blessed and cursed at the same time. With birth came death.
Hilde died giving birth.
I gained and lost at the same time.
A silent tear ran down my cheek and fell into my baby's face causing him to cry.

//Shielded from the world apart
In the haven of your heart//

'Shhh......' I said softly. 'I'm here for you.'
I studied him.
He looked soo much like Hilde. His hair held that certian blueish tint that had always set his mother apart from the crowd.
'Your mother's soul will go on. If not here, then elsewhere, but it will always go on. It will always live on in our hearts. I won't let you forget her.'
I held him closer andkissed his forehead.
'I will always love you......'
