Chapter 1: A Fading Life
"Please take out your text books and turn to page 398…"
Tohru tuned out the teacher after that. She couldn't help it, especially since he was in her class. In fact he was sitting right in front of her!
'This has to be the best class ever!' she thought happily.
"…ru… ohru… Tohru!"
"Eh!" she snapped out of her daze and blushed.
He was turned around, looking straight into her eyes. Tohru could feel the heat coming to her cheeks and the thundering of her heart pounding against her rib cage.
"H-Hai?" she said.
"Can I borrow an pencil?" he said in his usual tone.
"H-Hai!" she stuttered and handed it him "Here!"
"Thanks…" and he turned around.
'Great… now he must think that I am such a wierdo!' She sighed. 'Just great.'
BRRRRRIIIINNNNGGG! Rang the bell that sounded that the day was over.
'Yes! School is finally over!' Tohru smiled as she leaned back in her chair to streach.
Today was one of the longest school days Tohru had ever seen. Its was going so slow and every class seemed like a life time before it was over.
She sighed again as she stood up, collected all of her books grabbed her bag and walked out of the class room.
Suddenly she gasped. Today was the last day of school before the two week spring break! "Yes! Finally!" she yelled, earning her a few weird looks from people but she didn't care, she was finally free for a whole two weeks!
"Whats all of the excitement about?" said a voice behind her. She turned around and blushed a deep red. Its was him!
"U-umn… w-well its sp-spring b-break… s-so I was happy!" She mumbled.
"Yeah… Oh, heres the pencil you lent me!" he gave it to her with a small smirk.
"A-Arigato… Hatsuharu-san…"
