Chapter 1

"HEY DIPPER! HEY DIPPER! HEY DIPPER! HEY DIPPER! " Mabel said excitedly as she jumped up and down trying to wake dipper up. "Ugh… what?" Dipper groaned. "a new family just moved in!" "And… what does that have to do with anything?" dipper asked sitting up. "Because…" Mabel said in an urging voice. "We need to say hi!" she said. "Why exactly?" He asked. "Because, I want to be nice! Plus you need to get a friend, and stop reading all the time." Mabel said. "Fine. Let me just get dressed. " dipper said.

At the new neighbors house.

"Mabel?" Dipper asked. "Ya dipper?" she replied. "Are you sure this is their house?" the house was covered in vines with no windows and was on the bottom of a huge hill. It looked abandon. "Ya. Look, there's a sold sign." She said pointing to a sign. They're one problem with it, that was covered in vines too. "Mabel. It covered in vines. Let's just go home." He said turning back. "No!" Mabel said pulling him back. "Let's just see if they're there." She said ringing the doorbell. About after about a minute the door creaked open. The girl who opened it had long black hair and a simple white dress that looked like a bed sheet. Acutely it might have been a bed sheet. "Hello." She simply said. "Hi im mabel and this my twin Dipper!" she nearly squeaked with excitement. "Well I guess I better introduce myself, my name's Melanie Hawkins and" she got cut off by a voice. Melanie looked up at the ceiling as if she knew where it was coming from. "I'll be right back." She said closing the door.

Melanie POV

I walked up stairs to the attic where she was. "WHERE WERE YOU!" she yelled at me. "some- someone was at the door." I said in a shaky voice. "SILENCE!" She yelled back." I'm sorry!" i yelled back in a scared voice with tears streaming down my face. "Fine. Just go and tell them they have to go" She said rolling her "eyes". "LEAVE!" she yelled. I walked back down stairs but before I opened the door I wiped my eyes with my sleeve. when i opened the door Mabel and dipper were turned around talking. it looked like Dipper was holding a book and talking about it to mabel. "hello?" i said to get their attention. they turned around quickly as dipper shoved his book back in vest. I recognized the book. "where did you get that!?"i asked dipper. "where did i get what?" he asked as if he didn't know what i was talking about. "that book." i said pointing to his vest where he put the book. "my vest?"he asked. "no." i said as i grabbed the book out of his vest."this. where did you get it?" they looked at me in surprise. "i- i just found it in the woods. how do you know about?" he asked puzzled. i opened up the journal not responding to what he asked. "its just like i remember." i thought i said in my head but apparently i said it outloud. "what?" mabel asked me quickly. "oh. did i say that outloud?" i asked surprised. "yes." dipper said taking it back. "how do you know about it?" he asked again. "i- i don't know. i just do." i responded. "then how do u you remember?" she questioned me. "look," i said sitting down on a bench next the door. 'i'm not a normal person. im not even a human. well, i was. my dad, the author of that book. and-" i got cut off. my name was being called from the attic again. They both looked up to the attic. "what was that?" mabel asked. "YOU HAVE TO GO!" i yelled. "what? why?" dipper asked. "LEAVE!" i yelled with streaming down my face. "are you ok?" mabel asked "mabel, lets just go." dipper said turning away. "JUST LEAVE!" i yelled again. "YOU'LL GET HURT!" they ran. but not back up the hill. inside the house. up into the attic. i ran after them as fast i could but when i started up the stairs i could hear screaming and metal bars falling. i fell. after a about a minute i decided what i was going to do. i kept running. i saw them in a metal cage.
