He heard the door to the teacher's lounge creak open behind him. That wasn't uncommon, many teacher's had fifth period off for lunch. That wasn't what made his head turned.

"Katherine Turner?"

What. The. Fuck.

Slowly, he set his coffee down and turned. No other teacher was in the room, no one who could have heard what he hadn't heard in years. In the doorway, stood a single government-type man in a government-type suit.

What. The. Fuck.

The phys. ed. instructor cleared his throat, "Uhhhm, excuse me?"

The man in the door took a step forward into the room, closing the door and flicking the lock behind him; whether it worked or not was up in the air, this school needed to be replaced ten years ago. "Katherine Turner, formerly Captain Katherine Turner of the United States Air Force, graduated from the Air Force Academy in two-thousand—"

"I get it!" he snapped, fist tightening around his mug. Swallowing hard on his anger, he closed his eyes and counted to ten. "But," he inhaled shakily, "I have not been that woman in five years." And with an exhale, he opened his eyes. "My name is Kip turner, and if you know so much about me then you must know that I legally changed my name five years ago, and with it my preferred pronoun."

Uncomfortably, the pressed suit shifted his weight on his feet. "Yes, well, I have come to speak with the identical twin sister of Sarah Turner."

What. The. Fuck.

Author's Notes: Hey guys, as you may have guessed from the title, the main character of this story and the main basis of this story is going to involve transgendered people and that lifestyle. When I originally thought of this idea, it was the second time I had seen the movie and I had been discussing with my friend on the ride to the theater how I was feeling confused and scared about my own gender. Since then, I have started to go by the name Merric and use male pronouns.

Please don't flame me or post reviews filled with bigotry. I'd really appreciate the reviews and also if you have any questions about translife, please feel free to ask or talk to me about it.
