D/C: I live in America, and I am what I own, which is nothing.

Title: (don't)Leave me alone
Pairing: Naruto/Gaara
Summary: A swing, the sunset, and political alliance.

Notes: I have no idea what is cliche and what isn't in the NaruGaa fandom. But whatever. I am bored.

There was a lukewarm breeze.

Rose clouds lazily drifted along an orange sky.

Jade eyes stared at the drifting.

The clouds slowly drifted toward the sun.

Bars squeaked as a swing went back and forth.

Thin, sand-covered fingers lightly brushed against 愛.

The sun very slowly sunk into the horizon.

Tight fists gripped the swing's chains.

A deep, dangerous, and lonely voice uttered, "I wish he was here."

A lighter, more optimistic voice answered, "But I am here."

Gaara glared at Naruto, who was standing in front of him in all of his pseudo-Hokage glory. The breeze made his black and orange Hokage-in-training cloak billow out behind him. "I do not speak of the political requirements of maintaining an alliance between Konoha and Suna, Naruto. I do not see you here, Naruto. I see the Hokage-in-training."

Naruto bit his lower lip. "It was your idea to come out here to a park at sunset, instead of sticking around in a stuffy office with a bunch of boring old geezers."

"..." Gaara's breath hitched. Naruto was correct, but that wasn't the point. "Why are you acting all stiff and formal around me, Naruto?"

The sky darkened to a mix of deep magenta and blue.

"That's how I'm supposed to--"

"Iie!" Gaara hissed. "It's more than the political alliance. There's a rift between us. Now that you're about to become Hokage, you've become afraid of me."

Naruto took one step forward. "Gaara, that's not--"

"You've been keeping your distance as well as keeping up a stiff and formal act. If that's not indicative of fear, then I don't know what is, Naruto." Gaara placed a hand on his chest and gripped his black and brown shirt. "Why? Why are you...afraid of me?"

That was Gaara's worst fear: one of his precious people fearing him.

"It's not like that!" Naruto cried out, throwing himself to his knees and resting his hands on Gaara's waist. "How can I be afraid of you when I love you? All of this political shit and distance between us--I can't stand it! I thought you were avoiding me--afraid that because I'm finally becoming Hokage that I'd be a different person!"

Jade eyes softened as a relieved sigh was let out.

Gaara slid off of the swing and wrapped his arms around Naruto. "Why? Why did we keep this distance?"

Naruto pressed his forehead against Gaara's, eyes closed. "I know...we should've just stayed close, just like back then, Gaara."

Back then was full of intimate embraces and brief, embarassed kisses.

But this was not one of those kind of kisses.

Naruto bent his head and met his lips with Gaara's. Gaara lightly moaned and opened his mouth slightly for Naruto's tongue to enter in the deepest kiss of their life.

What was the point of political alliance when the two leaders were already intimate?

The first star twinkled in a deep blue sky.

There was no point to this. I was bored. There wasn't even any plot.
