Ron Weasley sits on a soft velveteen love-seat couch by
himself. He is now 21 and plays keeper for his favorite Quidditch team, the
Chudley Cannons. He stares at the happy, smiling, waving pictures that hang
on the walls of his best friend's apartment. He has seen these pictures every
time he comes over to visit. They were like daggers in his weak heart. All of
them.
Ron's
POV - *I see him standing there. I hate him. I envy him. Those bright
green eyes, that un-kept hair, that famous scar. Popularity brought to
him on a silver platter since the young age of one. I will always be second
to him. Always. Girls adore him. Guys want to be his friend. I hate him. I am
invisible when he is around. I will always be. Always. I look at my robes,
worn and old. My wand, ancient and tired. I look at his things, new, the best
money can buy. I envy him. Always. Hermione Granger was my secret love. He
asked her to be his wife. She gladly accepted. Once again, I am shunted. Like
always. My sister's heart, in ruins, likes mine. Outside, I plaster a smile.
Inside, there is a deep inferno of hatred, jealousy and bitterness. Without
him, I am nothing. With him, I am nothing. I drift here, semi-conscious. My
lover, stolen. My life, my pride, my heart, broken. I see my future. It is
not very bright. But I am certain of one thing. I am, and will always be
second, second to the famous Harry Potter.*
Harry - "Ron? Ron? RON?!
Ron - "W-wha?
Harry - "Dinner is about to start. Hermie's made us dinner the muggle
way...Hey, you all right?
Is
there anything you want to talk about?...I know it's been hard for
you..."
Ron - "Yeah, I'm fine...just fine. *sighs*
Harry - "Well, alright." *smiles sympathetically and walks into the
dinning room.*
Ron - *walks over to a big window and looks up into the cerulean sky. a
single crystaline tear
falls down
his pale, freckled cheek.* "I miss you Ginny." *a melancholy smile
spreads on
his gaunt
face as he remembers his young sister's funeral and the burial. He turns away
from the window and slowly walks to the dinning room to join Harry,
Hermione and their
two children*
