The barbaracle got up from the ground after a short nap in the woods. He looked over to his partner, a young heracross, who was still sleeping. He groaned and stretched, contemplating whether to go back to sleep or not. The woods were alive with chatter from birds and other pokemon, but it wasn't awake, no. It was too early. The barbaracle closed his eyes again and tried to go back to sleep. But he couldn't. INstead, he turned around, propped himself up against the tree, and sat with his hands on his lap, observing the landscape. Why did we do this? He thought to himself. Because of Spike thats why. He's not even up yet. He broke the calm and leaned over Spike, who was still sleeping.

"Spike, wake up. C'mon, we gotta go."

Spike moaned.

"C'mon I don't wanna miss this."

Spike rolled over onto his back. "Phoenix what, leave me alone I want to sleep."

"You're the one who decided to go."

"You're the one who decided to wake up. Now go back to sleep."

"Spike where's the backpack?"

"What backpack?"
"The one with our stuff in it."

"Oh…"

"Well, where is it?"

"I don't know."

"How could you have lost it!?"

"Stop yelling, I'm trying to sleep."

Phoenix sighed and got up to his feet and pandiculated, then turned around and decided whether or not to go back and look for his backpack. Maybe it's still on site. He wandered around the vicinity of their pseudo camp to see if the backpack was near. The grass and dirt was empty, except for their footprints, and there seemed to be no trace of the backpack anywhere. He looked back at Spike to make sure he was still asleep, then slowly creeped out of earshot and started running down the forest to find his backpack. The trees whizzed by as he started to push himself faster and faster. Crap what if I passed it, he thought as he saw that the ground had turned into a enigma. Phoenix skidded to a halt next to a large tree with a hoot hoot in it. Typical.

"Whachu doin hun?"

Phoenix scrunched up his face for a second. Then started scanning the forest. "My backpack?"

"You don't sound so sure honey." She moved her head to the side. "Do you need help or somethin'?"

"Uh," Phoenix shrugged, "Yeah, sure."

"No no, not me hun, I saw you and your frien' yesterday, mmmmmmm he a fine peice of butt."

"uh."

"Oh am I makin' you uncomfortable, sorry hun." She flew off.

"Hey hey, where are you going?!" He started running to catch up to the hoot hoot. "Come back!" He sighed agian and continued walking in the same direction he was before. The sun was still coming up and the few rays that were penetrating the forest canopy were bright and violet colored. Phoenix heard rustling from behind him and turned around, at first, he saw nothing, a moment later he saw Spike running frantically through the woods with a hoot hoot hot on his tail. He was yelling the entire time and flew right past Phoenix. The hoot hoot stopped at Phoenix however, and winked at him before flying away. Phoenix chased after Spike.

"Spike, wait up!" He yelled

Spike continued running until he tripped over a lump. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

"Spike calm down!" Phoenix said as he approached Spike, then he gasped. "The backpack!" He picked it up from under Spike's legs.

"Remind me again why we didn't just walk here on the sidewalk?"

"Your idea man."

"Oh yeah."

"Okay we're here."

"Yeha I know we're here, and we would have been here earlier if it weren't for you."

"Just put the tux on."
"Fine."

"Will the groom please stand?"

"Yes! Sorry!"

"Do you take Snepp Mason as your husband?"

"I do."

"And do you take Phoenix Rong as your husband?"

"I do."

"You may kiss the Groom!"
