Okay, might I just say this before I start this? YJ is becoming a beautiful, ingenious new show; only rivaled Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Wally and Dick going down in a blaze of glory. As best friends.
Artemis, Kaldur, and Conner "dying" for the sake of the team.
Megan breaking down after every "death".
AMAZING.
Brother Mine.
"You knew, all along. You knew why we were here."
-Wally West
Sixteen seconds.
"And death is at your doorstep."
Robin stared at the exit. Pretending it was open, pretending that he and Wally would burst through it, emerging victorious at the other side. And there, on the other side of this damn wall, would stand Artemis, Kaldur, and Conner. With the League. With Batman. And, and the world would be fine. It would all be a stupid dream. All of it.
No. They wouldn't be. Stupid dreams of life and laughter soon drained out of the young bird. And the clock hit ten.
"And it will steal your innocence…"
Nine.
Eight.
He looked up to his brother. Wally. K.F. Kid Mouth. Best friend. His only family left. Quickly throwing the bird-a-rangs at the door, they exploded. When the smoke cleared, there stood a gaping hole.
"Kid Flash, go."
Wally whirled around at light speed, "WHAT?"
Robin sighed, "Go, I-I'll be right behind you. Go, K.F."
"I'm not leaving without you, Rob!" Tears stung in the speedster's eyes and he imagined his brother dying without him. How would he go on? That was just it. He couldn't.
"Wally that is an order, go!" Robin said.
"Not without you Dick."
"But it will not steal your substance."
Three.
The brothers sat upon the enemy's floor. Wally slung his arm around the younger. And Dick did the same. Friends til the end.
"And you are not alone in this."
Two.
"Hey do you think, when we go where ever we go, Artemis will date me?" Wally asked.
Dick laughed, "I know she will."
"You are not alone in this."
One.
"Wally, it was truly and honor."
"Ditto."
"As brothers we will stand and will hold your hand, hold your hand."
The eruption flooded the ears of the Batman and the Flash as they watched their sidekicks "die" on the hologram screen.
And the brothers were gone.
THIS. IS. NOT. BROMANCE.
You may think it is, but its not. This song is not about romance. It's about struggle and sorrow. And the fact that even if we're about to die, I'll stay with you. Well, that's how I took it anyways.
Dick and Wally are brothers not lovers.
