So a few weeks ago I realized in horror that I hadn't done a Beatles songfic yet. After listening to Here Comes the Sun. Also, I hadn't written a Circle of Magic fic yet. And I had just finished reading the Circle Opens. And I thought of this. Hope you like.
Don't own the Beatles, don't own Daja or Frostpine.
Daja woke long before dawn. She sat next to Frostpine and watched the sun rise. Fr the first time in months she felt actual warmth on her face.
Here comes the sun,
Here
comes the sun,
and I say it's all right
She touched Frostpine's arm. He woke up, and followed her gaze at the sunrise. "Look, Frostpine, the sun," she said, "We've found spring."
Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely
winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun,
here
comes the sun
and I say it's all right
He smiled, glad for real sunshine. "Yes, my little mage, here is spring. What a long winter it's been. I've been waiting for this moment since we got there."
Little
darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it
seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun,
here
comes the sun
and I say it's all right
Daja laughed. She thanked Trader and Bookkeeper for the heat. It felt so good on her dark skin. Black people like her were not really meant for the cold.
Sun,
sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun,
sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun,
sun, sun, here it comes...
There was barely any ice covering the roads. Dirt, which Daja never really liked (who does?), seemed like a blessing, since it meant that the ground was dry from the sun. Flowers were poking through the ground. Daja blessed their color.
Little
darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it
seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun,
here
comes the sun,
and I say it's all right
It's all right
Their months in Namorn's freezing winter seemed like years. It was good to be home.
Did you like it? It's just a little ficlet I thought of. Very short, but once I get an idea in my head, I have to write it down.
Bye!
