Chapter One;
Remus looked at the small infant suckling at his, larger then normal, chest. This baby was the definition of innocence. He had two large wolf ears sticking from the mop of hair on top of his head; his eyes were not yet opened. Remus let a tear roll down his flushed cheek. He was too young. He couldn't be a father yet. But it was too late to call it off now. His infant was right there before him; attached to the swollen breast.
When the baby stopped; he curled up his tiny fingers and his mouth curled into a tiny frown. Remus cringed. He knew that soon the infant would wail out his heart. Then the door to his small room opened. It was his mother. She was holding a tray; with steaming hot tea and a small bottle.
"Remy? How are you?" She kissed his forehead. "How is my grandbaby?" She lightly touched his small nose with her pinky.
He raised a small hand up and she grabbed it in her own. "That's right. You are my little grandbaby." Finally his little eyes opened and showed in a beautiful gold. "Remy. His eyes are magnificent!"
Remus nodded and locked into their depths. He saw a child so innocent; until the night apon the full moon. He could see a small body writhing in agony. Screaming for daddy who was already the beast. Remus felt a flood of tears stream down his face. His mother looked at him.
"Remy?"
"He's like me. Mum... what will I do? Will he change in a week along with me?"
She pulled Remus into a tight embrace. "I don't know darling. It will be fine if he does I'm sure."
"It will hurt! He is only a week old! Like after I was bit, but worse!"
She felt her face flush and her eyes fill with the stinging liquid. "Remy. Please be more positive. I am doing all I can!" She swiftly left the room.
Remus hung his head. He felt really bad now. His mother could be doing anything right now, but instead she was at his side helping him every step of the way. The infant let out a whimper and clasped his tiny fingers around Remus' night shirt. Remus smiled. Then lifted the babe up, to kiss his small, warm forehead.
"Daddy has you. He loves you. He is just scared. That is all..."
The babe let out a coo. Remus laughed a little. The baby looked at his daddy with his newly opened eyes. He took in the sight. He sniffled at him; sneezed a few times, too. Then Remus heard the sound of someone bursting into the house.
Who is that!, Remus thought. He wrapped the baby up tightly in a small blanket and sat him in the crib that layed next to his bed. Then Remus walked slowly to his door. Thunderous foor steps stormed up the steps to Remus' room. No! Who ever it is isn't taking him!
Next thing Remus knew the door was kicked open and a tall young man with long black locks and flashing blue-grey eyes, stepped into the room.
"Sirius?" Remus asked, dumbfoundly.
"Remus... why didn't you tell me..." His voice cracked, with a hurtful tone. "I thought you were dead..."
"I didn't want to tell you. I thought you'd hate me!"
"No.. never. Where is it?"
Remus looked at the crib. Sirius' eyes followed his gaze. He walked over to it; then lifted the bundle out of the blankets. The baby was naked for his other father to see now. A small tail wagged out behind him.
"Remus. He is perfect." Sirius walked up to Remus still holding his son. "We will be the perfect family."
Remus clung to Sirius. His scrawny arms weak, but strong enough to show he didn't ever want to let go.
