'Bella...'
'Yes?'
'We should have a child.'
'Are you insane?'
'Isn't this the reason why I married you?'
'Point. But I don't want to have children yet.'
'Bella… we are almost thirty. Don't you think it would be time to have a child?'
'No. Definitely not when I've just become Dark Lord's most trusted servant.'
Rodolphus sighed heavily.
'Bella…' he moaned. 'What's the point of purging the world from mudbloods and muggles if there are so few pure-bloods born?'
'I said, not now.'
'So… when?'
'I don't know. Maybe never.'
Rodolphus laid his hands on his wife's shoulders.
'Bella' he said softly. 'I would do anything to have a son. No, a child.'
Bellatrix flashed an insane smile.
'Anything?' she said perversely. Rodolphus knew that he should beware when she smiled this way, but he nodded.
'Anything.'
But before Bellatrix could even think of some conditions, they were both called to the Dark Lord. And then, the topic just died.
A few days later Rodolphus saw his wife brewing some potion.
'What are you doing?' he asked.
'Brewing a potion which will allow you to have a baby' Bellatrix explained.
'What – you think I can't?'
'It's possible. Worth a try?'
'Uh, sure.'
When Bellatrix finished brewing, Rodolphus drank a portion of it.
'How much time does it need to work?' he asked.
'About two days. We can try then, shall we?'
Rodolphus nodded, overjoyed. He neglected his wife's smirk. After all, how could it hurt?
A few weeks later Rodolphus woke up, feeling terribly sick.
'What's wrong?' Bellatrix asked, and smiled triumphantly when Rodolphus dashed to the bathroom. When he came back, she hugged him warmly and kissed on both cheeks.
'Rod, We're going to be parents soon' she said. Rodolphus smiled with hope.
'Are you sure you're pregnant?'
'No…' Bellatrix grinned mischievously. 'You are.'
