"I do not own Jane and the Dragon or its characters

The sight of the red mane of hers was enough to send the princess running straight toward her in a tackle like hug. "Jane! Jane!" she cried, excited for whatever mini adventure she could participate in.

"Good morning princess"

"Let's us walk around and look pretty"

"As you wish princess"

Clinging on to her hand, they walked about in the royal garden. And what they happen to find in the Royal garden was intriguing. Tugging on her hand, the princess whispered "Is that not Gunther sleeping in the shade"

"I believe it is"

Picking up a feather from the ground, the princess was ready to tickle his nose, but Jane stopped her. In hushed tones she told her "You cannot wake him or he will disappear into a dozen butterflies and he will be gone forever"

"Why?"

"Because he is secretly a fairy, and that is why he is missing all the time. So we best not disturb him since I know how much he loves to play tea party with his favorite little princess"

This tiny revelation made the princesses heart glad, and so she listened, letting go the little feather her fingers wanted to keep. "We should Gunther let have his sleepy time"

"What a wonderful idea that is princess. Let us see if Pepper has anything tasty treats for us"

So they turned the other way, away from the sleeping figure in the shade. Smiling to himself in secret, he laughed at the secret in which he did not know about himself. "Fairies, what rubbish"

But it improved his spirits, and he soon drifted back to sleep thankful of the girl he considers a friend.
