A sudden wail filled the room, followed by an overwhelming amount of ohh's, ahh's and clapping of hands. Lily tossed her head back onto the soft pillow behind her. She looked over at James, who had tears forming on the brim of his eyes. There was a feeling of absolute magic in the air. Not the kind that made with a wand, or brewed in a cauldron, but it was just pure magic.

Harry James Potter lay silent in Lily's arms. He already had a large amount of jet black hair like his fathers, who he looked like in almost every way… except his eyes. They were an emerald green colour like his mothers. James placed a hand on his new sons head, feeling the warmth coming off the infant. Everyone that had witnessed the birth had not spoken a word since they got their first glimpse of the new Potter, but had all noticed that they should leave the young family alone.

"James…"
James looked up at his wife, who also had tears slowing moving down her face. He wiped Lily's cheeks softly and kissed her forehead. Looking into her eyes, James realised that this was what he had always wanted. A beautiful wife, a baby son and the best of friends anyone could have ever had. He didn't think he would ever be as happy as this again.
"Isn't this just perfect, sweetheart?" Lily nodded in agreement, still gazing at her son.
She gestured towards James' arms, not saying a word. He took Harry into his grasp and held his tightly against his chest. He didn't ever want to let go.

Suddenly there was a small flash of light. James and Lily looked up to see none other than Sirius Black, grinning broadly behind a camera, followed by Remus Lupin, who didn't look as happy as his friend. "Oh he's great, James. He'll be popular with all the girls like his dad was, won't he?" Sirius tickled Harry, with a content smile on his face.
"Sirius, don't you think we should leave them all alone for a while?" Remus asked quietly, not wanting to disturb the baby's sleep.
"Don't be silly, Moony. It's only fair! We didn't get to see the birth!"
"That is true, Remus." Lily continued, "And there is something we'd like to ask you anyway, Sirius."
Sirius' face became very tight. As much as he loved James and Lily, he was incredibly nervous all of a sudden.
"Don't look so worried, Padfoot! We wanted to ask you if you would be Harry's Godfather."
"Me?"
"Him?!"
Sirius looked at his best friend. He felt honoured to be asked to be apart of this child's life. He thought about having a baby around every now and then. He would certainly love to spend time with little Harry, but was he really the one for the job?
Sirius nodded his head furiously followed by a forced yes. James rose from his chair by the bed and handed Harry to Sirius. His long wavy hair brushed against the baby's face. He was a godfather. He was Harry James Potter's godfather.
