Wreck of the Impala

(Formatted and inspired by The Wreck of the Hesperus)

A mother, father, son and son

Lived happ'ly and care free,

But the mother was taken from the family

Sadder they never could be.

The yellow-eyed demon from below

Snatched the boys' mother away.

The father was determined to kill the beast,

The monster he had to slay.

He learned everything to aid his quest,

He researched day and night.

His journals were filled with scary stories.

The facts he checked were right.

Thrown into the world of monsters

And demons and some ghosts,

He was forgetting his sons,

The younger one the most.

As he trained himself, he tried to teach;

The elder son listened well,

But the younger screamed for reasons why

And fought and ignored and yelled.

As Elder learned more from his dad,

Younger continued to shout.

Elder always followed the rules,

Younger needed some way out.

While the brothers went through schooling,

Younger began to love

The ordinary ways of normal life

Grades rose beyond, above.

Though regular life was easy to Younger,

He wished his dad approved.

Elder did ev'rything perfectly

So away Younger moved.

Elder and Father were left at home,

Sad that Younger was gone.

They were left to revenge the demon

The pain started to dawn.

Younger was off learning all alone,

Daddy dearest worried.

Years had passed when Dad left on a whim,

Strangely rushed and hurried.

Elder was left without his father.

He didn't know to think;

For Dad had done the thinking before.

His heart began to sink.

Elder escaped to find his brother,

He couldn't keep on alone.

Younger was still succeeding at school with

Degree and love at home.

"Dad is on a hunting trip," said

Elder so they could search.

Younger followed, though dreams foretold danger.

His stomach, uneasy, lurched.

They battled monsters like Father taught,

Just to get Dad back.

When they returned to the younger's home

Little brother's heart did crack.

His woman was taken the same way

His mother was taked from him,

By the same evil demon from home,

Kept at Hell's bowels within.

The boys went on a hunt to avenge

Mother and Younger's girl,

And they searched for their dad to help destroy

This demon who crashed their world.

They hunted for months, always called Dad

He never could be reached

Fin'lly he called to get them to stop

But his location was breached.

They finally met and found the gun that

Could end the wretched beast.

Younger dreams of where Yellow Eyes is

But the others won't allow peace.

She wants the gun; Dad goes with a fake.

The brothers plan on a fight,

But the monsters escape and Dad is caught:

He may ne'er see the light.

Dad was possesed by Yellow Eyes.

The brothers' job was to kill,

But to knew their feelings and emotions;

Too frail and weak were their wills.

The demon vacated Father.

Fam'ly knew they weren't safe.

They drove off in the car to keep the hunt;

The wouldn't be saved by their faiths.

Yellow Eyes took charge of a semi

And crashed into their car.

Though they gave their lives to the fighting,

They didn't get very far.
