Epic of the Lost

In legends we hold since the dawn of life,

Of brave heroes who prevailed in great strife.

Some of which in their last moments, give their greatest sacrifice.

Those souls we often pray will find the Lifestream, realm of paradise.

The names of our heroes are what we keep in mind, and hold in each heart,

From Zack the noble, Aerith the gentle, and Cloud the brave,

Who ended ShinRa and their evil art.

Yet there are more who no one could save,

There were heroes who came to be, they depart.

Among the heroes who we have not known,

The men and women, whose stories remained unheard.

They have save you and me, but their names never written in parchment or stone.

Hear the tales of Dillon, Quinn, and Zane, all who fought and ventured.

Quinn Malloy the Persistent, her eyes of azure ablaze with her shining wit.

Small in size, fair as her ancestor, Shiva of crystal, ice and snow.

Quinn wield a sharp mind and a heart of gold, it held no fear, not one bit.

Her love for life, adventure, and for her friends always shone and glow.

A man admired Quinn from afar, but Zane dare not admit.

Yet there was no need for Zane to quiver in fear,

For Quinn did loved him so,

That she made very clear.

Yet she faced much hardship and woe.

It's not new for women in SOLDIER to face prejudice so severe.

Quinn never backed down, it was not her way to pack up and go.

Determined to stand as soldier, and win Zane she held so dear.

It was her pride, and her undoing.

Men told Quinn to back down, debates which ended in exhaust.

A woman as a warrior, a goal many thought was not worth pursuing.

It had to be done, to take Quinn down, no matter what the cost.

A mission went wrong, trouble was brewing,

In the end, Quinn was taken, forever lost…

But her efforts were not in vain!

She was respected, treasured and loved,

Especially by raven maned Zane.

Zane the loyal and true,

He is swift in mind,

A true soldier, who sees missions through.

Zane Ballard is quick and his heart is kind.

Tragedies strike, long before he knew.

Zane swore to leave no one behind,

To lose another friend is what he could not do,

After a mission ending in a grisly find.

Loss of true love left Zane so broken too.

He is indeed a true survivor, remainder of his crew.

And who would be the beloved comrade who is no more,

It was none other than a man with red-gold hair, and eyes of green.

Dillon Marquard the Valiant, Dill our grinning deviant.

A trickster at heart, but his intentions were never mean.

His work in computers was his gift, leaving others in amazement.

He hailed from Kalm, the quiet village so serene.

Dillon had courage in his heart, he faced grave danger.

It is the soldier's way to carry on and fend off every fiend,

And to aid fellow soldiers, there's no belief in abandonment.

It was so quick, so sudden was the demise of the beloved teen.

Dill came to Cloud's aid, saving him from a heartless assailant.

Death was not in Dillon's plans, but for Cloud's life, he had to intervene.

It was too late, no one can save Dill, neither medic nor his assistant.

From there, beloved Dill's journey began, to the Lifestream, the eternal ravine.

Their tales are here, don't you see?

There are more of the noble and strong,

They gave everything for greater good, it was meant to be.

Our heroes remain in our plane, their tales of trials always lifelong.

The Planet remains, the sun continues its brilliant reign, the winds carry their song.

Because of the persistent, the loyal, and brave, neither who dared quake nor flee.

These heroes, they gave everything to right our wrong.

They lived, fought and died for you and me.

Always remember them in mind, and hold their stories, so that their legacy will live long.
