Cry It All Away
Paige Hallie Hassleberry felt hot tears sting the corners of her eyes as she stood frozen in place. Her fist in midair from where she was going to knock on the door when it suddenly creaked open. Her heart was shattered at the sight of Carter Taran Princeton and Zeldan Galadriel Pack in a kiss. Without thinking, the bushy brown haired girl took off running down the stairs and through the lightly falling snow. She collapsed to her knees, her forest green eyes shining with tears, as she hugged herself. She didn't look up as a boy appeared.
"Go away, Vento!" Paige shouted, gritting her teeth fiercely. "I don't wanna speak to you!"
The black haired boy with honey-brown eyes kneeled down next to her and hugged her closely.
"It's okay to cry..." Vento Phoenix coaxed. "I gotcha... it's okay to cry."
"Why are you doing this?!" sobbed Paige, she hugged herself even tighter.
Vento's serious voice whispered in her ear, sending chills down her spine.
"He doesn't know what it is to love you... I do."
Paige bit her bottom lip as she looked into Vento's honey-brown eyes. She closed her eyes and felt Vento's lips brushing against her's gently.
Her first kiss.
The one thing she saved for the boy that cared for her deeply.
It wasn't Carter all along... it was Vento.
Paige kissed Vento back gently and she felt the snowflakes falling on her windstung face. Vento's hands gripping her shoulders gently as he pulled away.
"Cry away your pain." Vento advised. "I know that you can cry it all away."
Paige's forest green eyes filled with a new sparkle.
"Thank you... Vento."
"I can't let anyone hurt you." Vento whispered.
It was his way of saying 'I love you, Paige'.
His honey-brown eyes widened in surprise when Paige suddenly wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed Vento deeply.
This was her way of saying 'I love you, too' back to him.
Vento was right, Paige did cry it all away... and now she can be with the boy that had admired her for so long...
