A/N: Just a little poem for you guys. Doesn't focus on characters, as the summary suggests. Not much to say here; will talk a second at the end about my post schedule and new companion blog. Enjoy the silly poetry.
The end of a relationship
Can be almost as toxic
As a nuclear war and its aftermath.
There is nowhere to run in the end,
No vault or place to hide
From the flash fire radiation that will
Scorch your heart.
The feeling of losing that relationship,
Of that flash fire,
Can hurt like a kick in the heart
Or sometimes like a gunshot to the head
As you move forward.
There is no special way to slow down time,
To highlight and know the effects of words
And actions.
There simply has never been such a way
Except, perhaps, in a game.
But the beautiful thing about relationships
Is that some you can rebuild,
And others you needed to escape in the first place.
While nuclear war leaves nothing but ruins
Nothing but wastelands and setback
Under harsh cloudy sun.
Still, they are the same in one other aspect, nuclear ruin and relationships-
They can both lead to war in and of themselves.
War that no one had ever predicted, war over things that once were taken for granted.
And as we all know,
Humans, and war,
Never really change.
